Pirelli Drivers:
Lucas di Grassi (Bra)
Jaime Alguersuari (Spa)

----------------------------------------------------------------
Drivers in market with no confirmed seats:

Kubica - Unrealistic, does not look like he is yet fit enough for F1 currently - May end up at Pirelli??
Jaime Alguersuari - On the market and "sure" of a 2013 return - Forcer india looks unlikely, although there are lnks to Caterham now.
Valtteri Bottas - Williams reserve - impressive performances compared to Maldonado. Should be fighting for a regular seat this year.
Sebastian Buemi - Mooted as possible for Force India seat
Kamui Kobayashi - Rumoured to have Pirelli link open..
Vitali Petrov - Working on getting a decent sponsorship package together. Russian GP in 2014 is a possible + to his options.
Robin Frijns - Sauber are looking at him. However, up against Esteban Gutierrez and Slim's money makes this a long shot. Perhaps a test driver role?
Jules Bianchi - Second place to Frijns in Forumla Renault 3.5, quality driver, but nothing concrete anywhere. 3rd driver role at a minor team could be a possibility?

If you have a rumour, please post a link to the news story, or information on where the lead has come from!

Thanks!

The Hulk is taking a seat at Sauber next year. Could be good seeing as FI have sort of dropped off the pace they had last year.

Really slightly surprised by Kobayashi's possible lack of seat next year. Guess the money has helped from Guttierez...

But considering he's been competing well with Perez this season, and he's seen as a solid overtaker in the field (excl. Korea). Perez goes up to McLaren, and potential for Kobayashi to just completely not have a seat :S

Heikki is confident of Caterham drive next year:

Not confirmed, but not looking like they will dump him out currently!
Why would Caterham dump him? He's been pretty good for Lotus/Caterham since they made their debut in F1. What I don't get about Heikki is how, I seem to remember, people saying he wasn't good enough for McLaren but now there seems to be calls for him to sign for Ferrari based on his Caterham performance!

If I were the Hulk I'd take a Sauber seat over a Force India place.

I think that Sauber believe that Kobayashi is perhaps just as fast as Perez, he just doesn't bring his car home in the points often enough. Which is a shame as he's definitely an entertaining driver.

I said it was NOT looking likely they would dump him out, so your comment confuses me too! :D

The second seat isn't secure for Karthikeyan, entirely possible that Dani Clos will get promoted to it.
Unless Karthikeyan has a shedload of money somewhere, I don't think he deserves the drive. He's never beaten a team mate in F1 has he? I would have thought that Pedro is quite often faster in qualifying and race?

Fluttershy, the only reason that's the case is PDLR was wiped out by Maldonado at Monaco (plus attrition), otherwise every single other race he's finished ahead of NK. Not to mention Karthikeyan has been outqualified by 0.540s across the season on average. The only instance I recall Narain being faster in qualifying, Pedro had a gearbox change making it pointless to set a hot lap. I should also point out de la Rosa has made no driver errors in races, which can't be said for Karthikeyan.

When was the last time Karthikeyan outqualified a Marussia or a Caterham on merit?

In 2005, in the thirteen races where both Jordans finished Karthikeyan beat Monteiro six times.

Karthikeyan does have a lot of money that he's saved from his seasons spent racing in other series and that he's now using to pay for at least some of his seat. When his comeback was announced he basically said that driving in F1 meant more to him than being rich, which gets him a lot of credit from me as a person if not as a driver. In fact, I think he's the only guy currently in F1 who is even partially financing his own drive - all the other "pay" drivers are fully backed by corporate sponsors.

Not by much, and in terms of points Monteiro was clearly ahead (the 8th place at the Belgian GP was particularly notable).

Yeah, and he's occupying a seat a younger driver could be showing something in. The fact is, Narain's been very inconsistent across his career and is just making up the numbers (and occasionally crashing) in the HRT.

Pedro de la Rosa is several years older than him, long past his prime and didn't have a race seat last year (except Canada) yet Karthikeyan is being absolutely thrashed by the former in 2012. Junior formulae - no contest. PDLR has multiple titles all the way up to his 1998 test driver role at Jordan.

Other drivers can bring money (like HRT's reserve drivers) and will probably get quicker\more reliable over time. Where is Narain going? As I said, when was the last time he did anything halfway noticeable in that car? Getting to the finish, invariably in last place, doesn't really cut it.

It's the only one that was actually relevant, as their other points finishes came in the infamous 2005 US GP where only six cars raced.

All of what you say about Karthikeyan is accurate, but we all know the Golden Rule of F1 team selection is that the man with the most gold gets the selection. Nico Hulkenberg got Williams their first pole in something like seven years; four months later he was dropped for Maldonado. This turned out to be a reasonable decision for Williams as Maldonado converted his pole to a win, but it still only happened because the Mastor of Disastor came with a large bag of Hugo Chavez's money. It's the same with Kobayashi - he's had some brilliant results this year and is outqualifying Perez more often than not, but his 2013 drive is in doubt because Gutierrez is backed by Carlos Slim.
