F1 2013 - Teams and Drivers - Who goes where?!

Oh joy, Sutil one of the most average and generally unaware drivers on the grid is back. Should at least provide Maldonardo and Grosean an acceptable target to crash into or have escapades of bad driving with. Someone who should have been sacked after leaving the pits with his fuel hose still attached during the French GP...

Sutil was following the lollipop man's instructions, and with 17 men around his car he probably couldn't see the fuel hose.

This is a reason why I don't like pay drivers:

Valsecchi - the current GP2 champion - doesn't have a F1 seat.
But the drivers who finished 2nd, 4th and 6th do, and so does a driver who finished 2nd in Formula Renault 3.5

On the other hand. Marussia going to a Ferrari engine, gearbox and suspension next year then? ;)

Bianchi is going to walk all over Chilton this season I bet, despite the lack of testing he has had in the Marussia.

That's to be expected isn't it? A well travelled F1 test driver vs an alright GP2 guy. I like Chilton, and I wish him well, but at the end of the day he's in the car because of the money he brings the team.

A Ferrari tie in might be the kick Marussia need.

Bianchi isn't a pay driver and I would rate the FR3.5 championship as a much more competitive one than GP2 at this point.

What makes you think Valsecchi is any good? It took him 4 years to win against the weakest GP2/F3000-level field in decades. Wouldn't surprise me if he was carrying £10 mil in personal sponsorship either. The impressive guys in GP2 last year were James Calado and to a lesser extent Felipe Nasr. Both rookies with far less racing experience than Valsecchi or Razia.

I wouldn't count on them being around next year.

Yeah I am fully expecting them to vanish this year. Although a Ferrari deal could help them, but free engines might still be too little to save them.
