F1 2013 - Teams and Drivers - Who goes where?!

Paffett's been testing for McLaren for a while now, if he was up to a race seat he would be in one already. The fact that he's still only testing says a lot unfortunately.

He's Force India's reserve now. Hamilton pipped him to the 2007 opportunity, and before that McLaren chose to retain Kimi and JPM for 2006. Paffett obviously has some ability behind the wheel, you don't get 19 wins plus a championship in DTM (and four 2nd place championship finishes) that easily. I would guess the reason he went there first is because of driving for Keke Rosberg in German F3 (and winning that title).

Adrian Sutil? Forgetting the bar incident, he had that FI\Spyker seat for five seasons or 90 races. In that time he's been quicker than a weak pay driver (Yamamoto), Di Resta (rookie season, out of open wheel for 4 years) and Liuzzi, who never looked fast whatever he drove. When the car became competitive in 2009, Fisichella pretty much trashed Sutil.

Why not give someone a chance to move up from the junior series? I'd put Jules Bianchi, Sam Bird, etc in there first.

The only benefit I can see if racing for Sauber would be the slightly closer ties to Ferrari. They are hardly a massive jump up from Force India and not like he has been there a long time.

at least he knows his wages are coming though :p

I'm so glad all the di resta fake hype has disappeared now, he must be gutted after believing all the british media hype of how he was the next multiple WDC.

even mclaren didnt want him and the sauber seat freed up by perez goes to his team mate lol

He needs a few podiums first, which Perez has managed, which is why they picked him. PDR is still very capable and hopefully can show us a bit more next season.
