F1 2013 Testing: Week 3 Barcelona

its probably old news to you guys, but red bull and lotus could be in a bit of trouble with engine maps:

Red bull and lotus thought that the august 2012 directive for engine maps didnt stand in 2013, but as far as the FIA are concerned it still stands. since they have probably designed their cars around more efficient EBDs it could hamper them in the first few events

Here we go again...you think that rb\lotus would stop trying to break the rules by now...

Whats an actual top time around here, is it "dry" yet or drying.

Interesting to see again that Hamilton is ahead with a longer run, 14 lap run it looks like, while Massa did 5 laps.

Been working on an assignment for like the past 28 hours or something ridiculous, missed this morning. Looks like Vergne was pretty fast but much earlier, has it rained between then and Hamiltons' fast lap, or earlier in the morning?

EDIT:_ way to tired to think, completely forget it was same track again, so low 1:20's and its just crap weather still?

Am I the only one watching in 3d then?

It's interesting. Not great, but it's certainly different. Would be better if Sky3d did full HD as opposed to side-by-side 3d

UK tv is only 720i so you will never get true HD(1080p) and side by side is 1080p when used with the right setup.

Errr... Sky broadcasts HD in 1080i - my box it set to output the signal without upscaling it, and the TV switches to 1080i @ 50Hz. The Sky 3d signal is Half SBS @ 1080i - so each deinterlaced frame is 960x1080. You can get Full SBS, which has a frame size of 3840x1080, but not much supports that at the moment.

Even the HD channels over freeview are 1080i.

My bad I was thinking of 1080i=720p :o

Tridef does 1080p in 3D SBS but that's only on a computer.

Back on topic..What the hell is going on at McLaren?

I watched the first 30mins in 3D and tbh I couldn't see a great deal of difference (on the track). I'm now watching it in HD and will watch the next 3 days' testing in HD.

Just asked a question on #skyf1 about Q3 running this year and tyre allocation as Paul Hembrey is on but my Sky GO has crashed. :(

Did they ask him?
