Finally turned off all brake assist. So all I have left on now is ABS, dunno why but even though you might not be as quick with assists turn off you do feel more sense of achievement...

Personally I think ABS is pretty much useless (unless you're in wet weather), you can turn it off and it will have no effect on your times if you're already braking correctly

Consoles begone. Hybrid pc's are the way forward (unfortunately more expensive). Never seen a F1 or driving game thread move so fast. I'm still waiting for a drop in price as I own 2013 abd 2015.

ooh well I'll give that a go then. Most circuits I've got a good idea on how to get around in decent times. So if its as you say, then I might just turn that off.

You'll probably get a few lock ups until you learn exactly how to release the braking pressure but once I got that down I haven't looked back

8th, not bad. Pretty certain there's at least a second to shave off of that, because I beached myself and rode over one of the exit curbs on one of the slow corners.

ABS is brake assist.

I play with all assits off, so immersive. Punishing when you make a mistake though. It's all about getting the power on out of the corners. So wheel straight as possible as soon so you can fire on the power.

I think a little throttle deadzone at the top end might help but I'm learning to ease it on but not too slowly.

My big question mark is the setups. I'd love to know how setups help certain cars on certain tracks. It's all well and good loading up a faster setup from the workshop but I wanna know how it works so I can do it on my own merit! haha

Loving this game so far and I've not done any actual rtacing. Love the workshop setups, love the ghost & rival system. I'm loving just lapping. Such a workout with My G27

i can match him all way round except for the start which for some reason he just zooms off at like twice the speed.

even when i use his set up my car dont do that which i cant work out why.

Thinking about getting this and was reading about it on pretend race cars.

He says forget having traction control off as it's a horrible implementation and you're pointlessly suffering.

Any thoughts?

You can turn traction control on medium, which is a pretty good compromise. Turning it fully off is a hefty challenge in the dry, easily wheel spinning in 4th gear. I'd hate to think what it's like in the wet.
