F1 Manager Game

i think i might just stop playing this, so flipping annoyed...

So ive finally hired a top driver, and its already signed for another team for next season....

Image removed.

All season was finishing 2nd or 3rd to teams using mercey engine i was using ferrenzi for reliability. Now they do way more practices laps with 1st and 2nd drivers, use peg it all the time and all they got was "is having mechanical problems hope it does not hold them up to much" messages.

After 5 races of this and it having no influence on the races I went mercey engine, and got3 or 4 2nd places in a row just couldnt get the better of the top guy coz he had the best driver. Then last night both my drivers retire engine with engine failures while set to take it easy. Private leagues are a joke and to be quite frank, rather embarrising which is a shame as I would like to play other leagues and contribute but the main thing is playing with my mates.

Shame they seemed to have just neglected the private leagues. I dunno maybe the other league have similar problems but im out for now goi try some other Ive seen about.

well back at the fighting edge. 1st and 3rd last night. So it's going to be tight all season. Hope no one improves as I'm now stuck.

Know need to get my design department up and running. Can I upgrade brakes/cooling/gearbox without affecting balance and stuff of the car. If so I'll upgrade those for the rest of my 2nd season. Before moving to chassis next season.

All 9 parts count towards car stabilty. Work out what you've got now and see where you can improve. Email me and i'll sort you out with a tool to help.

Individual part stability is based upon a median of all 4 statistics. So if you have Grip, Aero and Weight of 60%, and a reliability of 30%, your overall individual part stability is 50%. Imagine the Stability (in this case 50%) of the chance you will crash. 50 is not good. If all your parts have a stability of 50, you will have an overall Car Stability of 50. This is known in the industry as I Aint Gettin in that Wobbly Ass Car Fool.

The overall stability is a standard deviation and average of all the indivudual part stabilities from 100%. The closer to 100, the better. 50% is pretty poor. I wouldnt personally want to race with less than 90%.

Just been reading the manual.
So 600 points to share between the 4 attributes.

And you want 0.9 on reliability.
so
154% on all 3 would be 0.9 reliability.
But then do you need 154% on weight as you can only go down to 600kilos. Does this game have ballast and does it affect the race?

I've no idea. Sorry.

In addition to the email i just sent you, ive just thought:
You effectively have 2 chassis. One is yours (starts at 10% for everything), one is the one you're paying for from the Chassis Company.

In the left hand column, i use the chassis from the company, as this will effectively be the one im using all the time, thus want to compare against.

Also don't forget that you can only increase each statistic to 100% unless you research... and researching to allow 157% will be expensive and take a long ass time.

It will cost 30 million to allow 160% stats on parts, and will take 10 races for teh reasearch to be finished. Then you have to allow a further 10 races at least to create a part from 10% to 157% across all stats.

that's true but I want to plan ahead. Don't want to waste all the points and then find out I don't have enough reliability, or too much of something else.

How do you find the % of the purchased chassis? all I can is is star rating.

yes there is ballast, the effect is basically if you have lower than 600kg, then you can run more advanced components without adding to weight, as ballast will be removed accroding to the extra weight added by the component, so the weight will stay at 600kg

lol your fault for not extending the contract if you found a good driver!

i had no idea you only had 1 race, 1 day, to extend contracts before they are fair game to everyone.. it was no where in the manual :/

also i only had crap drivers up until that point so never happened to me. totally annoying. Although i'm gonna make him test drive 500 laps every race to drop his motivation down to 0 and hopefully he'll crash with go all out and get injured or dies.

yeah im bitter, but im gonna be on the look out to ninja everyones drivers now.

You cant buy drivers until after the first race of the season. As soon as that happens, everyone is fair game unless theyre on a recurring contract.
