But more importantly, who will take the spare seat at Red Bull?
I'm going to say Hamilton
Can't see that happening, if this years car had been rubbish then maybe but I would expect him to re-sign with Mac
Perez is a Ferrari driver
Kimi's contract with Lotus is 2 years. I doubt he would be interested in a Ferrari seat though.
He may well be interested in a Red Bull seat though.
I think there is more chance of Kimi ending up at Red Bull than Hamilton.
He is in the Ferrari Driver Academy, does not make him a Ferrari driver
I don't ignore it, I just don't see why they would?
Would you choose Vergne or Ricciardo over Webber? Neither of the TR drivers have set the world alight yet this year.
For Webber to go to Ferrari for a year or 2 means that Ferrari want him more than Red Bull want him, and for me this opens up 2 more interesting questions:
Who is it that Red Bull want more than Webber?
And why do Ferrari want Webber more than any of the other drivers they could pick from?
When we were talking about Ferrari replacing Massa a while back a number of names were bounded about, but I don't think anyone ever mentioned Webber...
I just find it all a bit odd. If you could throw in some other variables like Hamilton being on the market, and Perez already being signed for someone else then it might make a bit more sense. But as things sit now, I must say I don't really get it.
I can't imagine the most vocal driver about being 'number 2' will work well in the team with the strongest number 1 and 2 driver policy either
Or it could just be a rumour started by Webber's management in order for Red Bull to get talking to him, much like Jenson using Ferrari to get McLaren waking up
Webber has survived Red Bull and their just as strong no1 role for Seb, so going to Ferrari would not be much different.
Red Bull are nowhere near as focused on 1 driver as Ferrari. Ferrari would also be far less tolerant of a 2nd driver being openly vocal about it in the same way Webber has been at Red Bull.
