F1 Testing 2015: Week 1 Jerez

Where did mclaren ever do behind closed doors simulation testing out of the public eye so to speak? It's not like they had their own track?

Team used to do a lots of brake and acceleration testing at the airfield Hammond crashed his jet car Elvington Airfield near York. Its about 1 mile away from my work the sound was fantastic!

People will always take a stab at Red Bull.. Many people said similar last year and guess what, they came a strong second place, the only team to even remotely challenge Mercedes. When you consider what happens to most "big" teams when they've been winning for a while (point and case being Ferrari and McLaren in recent years) it's hardly really a large fall from grace.

Bit of an odd response, mate, I was talking about one event on a single day of testing not an overall view of Red Bull's position. There's no doubt they've been the best team in F1 viewed over the last five years and the second best team last season.

so bets on mclaren laps today?

things look better for them so far tho. Alonso on a 5 lap run.

They need to do at least 50 laps.

1 Rosberg
2 Ricciardo +1.717s
3 Nasr +2.068s
4 Sainz +3.809s
5 Raikkonen +4.033s
6 Alonso +4.049s
7 Massa +12.869s
8 Maldonado (no time)

Watch you don't trip over your handbags :)

Wonder if the Honda engine can pull all the way down a straight like the Merc one?

It's all Alonso dragging the McLaren around anyway TBH, Button would be struggling to find a good, well, you know the rest ;)

speed traps on the line say rosberg 262kph alonso 258kph.

Alonso braking later than Rosberg into turn 1 most likely because he is going slower

Regarding the start/finish line speed trap comparison between the McLaren and the Mercedes, BEN ANDERSON reminds us that one of the German powerplant's strengths last year was the fact that it kept on pulling to the end of the straights

Interesting that Ferrari have been fastest in all sessions. Was not expecting that. Everyone else must be running heavy fuel loads (but hopefully not) :D
