F1 Winter Testing / Driver Line-Ups for 2007

Autosport are speculating that the wind caught him out. Bent it nicely too, whole right side gone but he got out and walked away unaided.

I would guess they know pretty quickly after an accident - they just wont tell straight away.

Guess so.

16. SCHUMACHER Toyota 1m34.030s
17. SPEED Toro Rosso 1m34.057s

Ferrari back on top again.

One second seperates the top 5. Red Bull disappointing again. And what are Toyota playing at? All that money and they can't even buy a win! Sato is less than a second away from the best Toyota!

So much for the much vaunted Newey designed Red Bull-Renault....

Honda seem to have dropped back although it's the testers who are doing the driving today. BMW however are being consistently quick just behind the McLarens and Ferraris.

However it's still just testing. Remember last year's Honda flew in testing and then was naff most of the year.

EDIT: Toyota lost some time during the day when Ralf dropped it. You're right though, $250 million a year and all they get is the odd pdium. Doesn't help when you sack Gascoyne because you don't agree with what he's saying despite the fact that you employed him to fix things....

Possibly driver error - actually most likely to be this.

He did a good job though, and certainly made the livery look better in this guise :D

Ferraris on top again :) :)

Looks like it could be close at the top. :D

I suppose this year its going to be easy for Honda and renault to identify bits of their cars when they drop off give their choice of livery...

Today's times from Bahrain:

Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Massa Ferrari (B) 1:30.640 100
2. Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:31.178 55
3. Raikkonen Ferrari (B) 1:31.490 94
4. Fisichella Renault (B) 1:31.967 109
5. de la Rosa McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:31.971 52
6. Kovalainen Renault (B) 1:32.068 30
7. Heidfeld BMW Sauber (B) 1:32.264 73
8. Button Honda (B) 1:32.293 73
9. Liuzzi Toro Rosso-Ferrari (B) 1:32.359 47
10. Kubica BMW Sauber (B) 1:32.648 54
11. Barrichello Honda (B) 1:32.650 61
12. Sato Super Aguri-Honda (B) 1:32.837 100
13. R.Schumacher Toyota (B) 1:33.054 85
14. Coulthard Red Bull-Renault (B) 1:33.146 52
15. Webber Red Bull-Renault (B) 1:33.238 53
16. Trulli Toyota (B) 1:33.384 33

Not much change at the sharp end, Renault are maybe a bit closer and BMW a bit further back but it's still McLaren and Ferrari fighting it out.

Towards the back Toyota aren't looking too clever finally slipping behind the R106 ;) of Sato.

Updated the front page to complete team listings for 2007, as well as Championship odds for drivers and constructors :)

Has anyone know when the season preview show will be shown on ITV?

I've had a look and cant see anything about it. Maybe just before the first race qualifying? Anyone else put more light on this?

It is normally the weekend before the first race, but the only thing on ITV1 is

Sunday 11th March
5.05pm
F1: Chasing the Dream

Steve Rider introduces a look behind the scenes at McLaren's base in Surrey, as their new line-up of drivers - two-time world champion Fernando Alonso and young British sensation Lewis Hamilton - prepare for the new campaign. Both drivers speak about the season ahead and their desire to claim McLaren's first world title in seven years, while other leading figures talk about some of the team's work during the winter months which they hope will see them become more competitive than in recent years
