You still can't tell either way.

That is after Cech has touched it.

The entire ball wasn't over the line. It may have almost been entirely over, but there has to be a gap, and there wasn't.

You sure? You get an angle directly on the line of the posts?

It's upto you to prove that it went over the line! We have looked at it several times and don't believe it crossed the line yet you believe it did, so you need to show proof as to why you believe it was a mistake.. :o

There is enough contention for me to send an email to Paddypower appealing for something:p

...they have done similar in the past, they might possibly refund me.:D

I hope this turns into another 'Evra pulled his hand back from the handshake' photo evidence fest.

For 60 minutes Chelsea were clearly better. Liverpool upped the tempo once Carroll came on but it lacked a little craft. Certainly didn't seem over the line on the replays and nor did that photo posted show the ball entirely over the line to my mind.

Prove what to you? You can make up your own mind, I see that it is over the line, and what is the rule on these goals if the linesman just makes a blind call as he clearly doesn't know? As you're supposed to give the advantage to the attacker on the offside rule.

No due to the fact there are no cameras actually on the goal line, there wouldn't need to be a gap.

There has to be a gap from the point of view of the linesman, and there obviously wasn't.

Ultimately his eyes are infinitely more important than any camera. :p

Do you think the entire ball crossed the line? Yes/no.

is it just me that doesn't see the photo or the gif that have been posted showing the ball clearly over the line?

There is no video evidence of any sort showing the ball over the line, just on the line.

Was the linesman even in line with the goal though? I doubt it completely.

EDIT: @ Nate75, as for saying even if it was in Chelsea would have gone on to win/score another, have some faith :p coming back in finals being down we usually win

Note that a large part of the white blob that is the ball, is also actually Cech's hand, it doesn't look over the line to anyone but you. It may be close, close isn't over, it wasn't a goal, had the referee given it without being sure, that would have been the incorrect decision.

IT really honestly doesn't matter what YOU think, nor what replays show, the rule is simple and clearly defined, the goal can't be given if the ref or linesman aren't SURE it has gone over. It could be over in one replay out of 59, NONE of which the officials had access to, in the moment neither were sure, there is one correct decision, not giving it, and one incorrect decision, giving the goal.

You keep saying things along the lines of the ref has screwed you, he didn't. What screwed you was being rubbish for the majority of the game and conceding more than the other team.
