***FA Cup QF and Premier League 7th March***

When Arsenal play Fulham, they lose 1-0 away and draw 0-0 at home. Man UTD resting players as opposed to them being injured spank them 4-0 in a ridiculously casual manner.

Man UTD's wage bill isn't that much bigger than ours :(

Lol is Mr Burns directly pumping nuclear waste into the Fulham water supply? That kid was freaaaaky...

Don't like dishing out praise to United but that was a fantastic attacking performance from them today. Some of the link up play and one twos were great to watch. Thought Tevez and Rooney were both outstanding and although Tevez doesn't have the skill and creativity of Berbatov he offers them so much more with other aspects of his game. Deserved his MOTM.

I think that's the best I have seen our forwards play today. Movement on and off the ball was really good. Another game down but it's a shame the fans get shafted having to goto ******* Wembley for the Semi's. It will show what a mockery it is if we draw Everton in the next round

Yup, basically its embarassing, and yet more proof of what I've been saying our key problem was. What one section of the field ran rings around us in both games, while were completely non existant in this game. The midfield, Danny Murphy was easily MOTM against us, i forget if he was as good in the first game tbh but the last one he rarely if ever lost the ball.

Today he was taken off for the hope someone could do better, people lately have been saying Arsenal don't need a DM and thats not our problem because Man U are doing fine and they don't have one, except for the fact that they do.

THe first thing a DM does, his first job, his key job that surpasses anything else is KEEPING THE DAMN BALL. INadvertantly Anderson, Scholes and Carrick(especially the last two) rarely, really really rarely give the ball away. The thing is you pass it to Carrick and you KNOW the ball will make it somewhere upfield, which means Evra/whoevers at right back know its safe to edge forwards, which means you've got a massive attack ready to go. With Arsenal you give it to one of the two in the middle and everyones worried how long it will be till you concede, we can't keep the ball, we give it away needlessly. We don't commit wingbacks as often as we used to because thats cost us so many times because they'll head upfield and Song will give it away and we'll be short at the back.

Carrick, Anderson, hell, even Scholes has improved his tackling this year(largely by being slow so getting forwards less, which leads to less tackling from behind). Anyone Man U stick in midfield is capable of tackling, but again thats not the key thing for a DM, watch Makelele or Gilberto, its about not taking yourself out of the game and cutting off the angles for the easy through ball. Because Carrick is a great at finding a throughball himself, he knows where to stand to cut off his opposite doing the same thing. Carrick and Scholes read the game SO WELL offensively, they can use that same reading of the game to defend well also and be where they need to be. So its crap Man U don't have a decent DM, they have about 6 all told.

They didn't give the very decent Fulham midfield an inch today and destroyed them, we gave them miles of room to wade into and they could easily have won.

WE're playing kids who aren't good at football in our midfield and everytime we've been up against anyone remotely confident our midfield dissappears. Hopefully Totti is still semi injured so Roma aren't any good again, or we're screwed.

Park in half decent game shocker!

You saw it here first.

Is that sarcasm? Almost every game somebody mentions how well park plays, i dont need to tell you scoring goals isnt everything.

I dont think Park gets the praise he deserves.

He has consistently been one of the most hard working players this season for United, despire not scoring every game. He is always working hard for the ball and him and Evra are starting to have a very lucrative partnership.

Deserved his goal today, great play before it and a very good finish.

I thought Anderson was awful today, fair enough coming back from an injury, but the amount of silly misplaced passes and hollywood balls was pathetic.

Anyone else hear a buzzing during the replays on ITV highlights?

What a horrible sound. :/

Sheffield Wednesday 0 - 1 Wolves

Pretty poor game, Wolves only had a few chances and played the long ball. Were really physical, and one they went one up after a few minutes they spent the rest of the game defending and just killing us off.

We didn't play well, couldn't get the ball down and Wolves pressed well, Midfield was almost non existent, forwards had nothing to go on and were really really poor. Wolves finished with 5/6 defenders on, and we had 3/4 forwards on, but non able to win the long balls we had resorted to pumping the ball forward.

Only saw the second half of the Manchester United game, Thought Manchester United were really good, Park was good ( might shock a few people on the forums that he knows how to play football ) and the team looked brilliant, Vidic is a beast at the back.

I saw it mid-week :p. He was brilliant again tonight.
Park gets a lot of stick, but every squad in World football has a spot for a player like Ji-Sung Park. His work rate and effort are second to none and he has the heart of a lion to go with it.

His goal was also superb, if it was Rooney, Torres, Drogba, Lampard, Gerrard, Ronaldo who did it there would have been 10 replays and constant talk about it.

First 15 or so minutes, yes, lots of Hollywood passes, but you're bound to create something eventually, let us not forget he actually got Rooneys assist (although it was a simple pass). First half Anderson was excellent and Carrick poor, second half Carrick shone and Anderson just did the simple things. I didn't think Anderson had a great game though, pretty average, but he did his job of keeping the Fulham midfield quiet.

Man U fans have a new flavour of the month, every other day or so.

SAme with Liverpool fans tbh.

last Season Anderson was the best thing ever, so was Babel and Lucas. This year Lucas and Babel are hated by their fans, Anderson this year Man U fans change their minds every couple weeks if he's crap or not. Lately o'shea's getting major stick despite being a great utility man. He's barely played the same position for more than a game at a time and you complain he's not world class there. If he's lucky he'll get 2-3 training sessions in position before a game, if its a injury to someone else and a game 2 days later, he might not have trained in that position for months, give him a break.

Likewise, Tevez, I love him, I hate him, I love him I hate him, we can't pay that much, its a rip off, how can we let him go.

Sheesh, take a play out of my book, pick who you hate and STICK WITH IT, so much easier and less stressful also, plus when they screw up you feel all happy inside that you were right.

I can't believe how much stick for instance Wes Brown got all year in a great year, likewise you've been almost the best you've ever been defensively with o'shea playing loads? Despite all Neville has done for you guys you gave him all of about 30 minutes back from injury before you were calling him past it, crap and useless.

Berbatov, apparently ran more than two of your other hard runners combined, yet you still call him lazy because he doesn't chase down pointless balls or kick the crap out of people. Me thinks the word is.... fickle.

How much stick does he actually get? A general acknowledgement that he's crap yes, but far less than he'd get if for some reason he was a regular in a certain position.

Is that many seperate opinions moulded into one single opinion?

Opinions do change over time. Actually, forget that - opinions absolutely should change over time. It's this need that some people seem to have for their gut feeling to be right that leads to them talking nonsense before too long. ;)
