FA Cup Semi Finals + other football *Spoilers*

Cheets the score was 4-1, it's not as if they won by a single goal from a dubious penalty.

Fair enough Gibbs could have gone, but can you 100% say that would have stopped Arsenal scoring goals? I doubt it.

wow, its almost like someone who has repeatedly said we aren't remotely as good as we appear and the likes of Denilson and Diaby are shown up repeatedly everytime we play anyone not in the bottom 8 of the league who are all trying their best to get relegated. They perform like this in every game its just against West Brom and the likes the effects aren't as devestating, even then we conceded to West Brom, Newcastle, Burnley aswell didn't we, blackburn too, its a joke.

AS for Eboue, despite the comentator insisting Eboue was at fault for the goal, he was, between Malouda and the goal, what else can you do, people shoot, the shot isn't always blocked. Likewise the commentator said Fabianski was at fault for being beaten at the near post, ok so lets say he started off a foot further to his right and had that post covered but malouda shot for the other corner, what then. It wasn't a great goal to concede but they happen, frequently. Eboue made loads of tackles, loads of blocks on other shots, lots of good running forwards. HE was repeatedly doubled up on and Malouda was clearly having a far better game than Anelka so the attacks mostly went down the left, Theo and Diaby were no where to be seen so Eboue was having to mark 2 people most of the time by himself, and yet the only "mistake" he made was being between the scorer and the goal when the shot happened. The single best defender in the history of football won't always stop the ball passing him, thats not how football works.

Just like Richards who was injured in the end of his game Eboue was injured with about 10-15mins to go, he still got back and made tackles and blocks in the dying minutes but was clearly struggling.

Theo was again dangerous looking when played inbehind, with defenders to beat he looked hopeless, without fail every single time he runs with the ball his 2/3rd touch will be way to far ahead, the single time he actually beat Cole he proceeded to kick it out for a goal kick. Not a winger in any shape or form, his delivery was appauling as was his passing. bendtners very first touch on the wing he turned, ran beat his man got a great cross in by seeing Arshavin unmarked and put the ball right on his foot, and bendtners no winger yet did better than Theo had managed all game.

ADebayor should have been taken off, about 40mins earlier, he didn't have a single shot on target, his hold up play was dreadful, his first touch embarassing, he, along with Diaby underhit almost every pass their tried, both were truly pathetic.

Why Eduardo, back from injury for a few games hasn't gotten a look in, neither has Vela, after Wenger makes a big deal about rotation due to so many games upcoming. 4-5-1 is pathetic, ADebayor is pathetic. When we play ADe or that formation we create less chances, 1 shot on target (or it was when I last checked towards the end) and 2 off target, while a fairly poor Chelsea had 6 on 7 off target. We were always looking to lose with the lack of chances being created while CHelsea were always going to win creating enough chances to take the game. yet it was the 86th minute before he took off Denilson, 83rd before Adebayor was off and 75th for RVP, who wasn't playing well, but wasn't bad either, he had no one to pass to infront of him at all.

Terrible performance, all the same players failed massively, all the same failures as a team when we play 4-5-1, the same lazy inability to do anything for the team for the entire game in Adebayor.

How Diaby finished the game I don't know, was worse than Denilson, never tracked a single run into our own box, was a joke and gave the ball away in our own area.

Pathetic, 1 shot, 1 freaking shot that was frankly a little lucky to go in.

EDIT:_ I'll also add FAbianski certainly didn't look assured in any way or form, but the goal, as I said, the majority of strikers go the opposite corner, you can't cover every inch of the goal all the time, if you could being a goalkeeper would be easy. AS for rushing out, he didn't do well but he made Drogba play him, maybe drogba would ahve hit it against him or played it too far wide, what should he have done wait in goal and have Drogba come closer before shooting, sure it may have worked Drogba might still have just scored. Toure and Silvestre both pretty much gave up on it which was more dissappointing for me, but the underlying problem is sometimes you lose goals, against good opposition its highly likely, our complete lack of chances is what killed us. Had we played a different formation and without 2 truly terrible players in central mid, then maybe we would have scored 4, who knows. The simple fact is we didn't look like scoring in the entire game, while they did look like scoring, eventually. That goal or a different one, the team we put out, the quality of some of the players, we wouldn't have won that game and its really that simple. Fabianski didn't single handedly lose that game, the team selection did.

They would have been 10 men down and Gibbs cleared of the line in the 2nd half from Midos header.

Am i the only one who read the first 4 lines of drunken masters post then..........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Gibbs cleared off the line like ANY good covering full-back would have done. Even if he did get sent off, Wenger would have sacrificed a more forward player for another defender, who in turn would have cleared a slow moving header before it reached the vacant goal.

Well that was a disappointment, from both teams really, the game was pretty stale. Other than our goal we didn't do much and apart from some glaring errors at the back nor did Chelsea. Fabianski has no composure whatsoever, how he is 2nd in line at a top Prem side is beyond me. He's a joke. Eboue used to be good at right back but he was pretty woeful today, to be fair i think it should have been offside for the first goal but no excuse for not closing him down.

Some very suspect decisions from Wenger, 4th place is pretty much sewn up and the next champs league game isn't for a while, we should not have been resting players or taking our top 2 forwards off at 1-1. Ho hum, all our eggs in the champs league basket now.

From what I saw, Fabianski was pretty much at fault for both goals. He shouldn't have been beaten at his near post like that for the first, and for the second, if he comes out like that he MUST get the ball.

He was lucky that Drogba didn't score in the first half anyway, when again he was caught in no-mans-land.

No Gibbs should have let it go in as he should have been sent off, so he is a cheat clearly

Talk about bitter lol

As for this rant about Walcott. You talk rubbish. He wouldnt be in the Arsenal and England team playing on the wing if he wasnt any good. His crosses have come on tenfold recently for a player that is naturally a forward. He is also making some very good runs and his composure infront of goal against villa in champions league for his goal was fantastic.

He along with Arshaven are some of the few good things to come good of this season. If he avoids injury next season you will be eating your words.

This result does go to prove that we seriously dont have the strength in depth to challenge for anything.

Cant see our defence seeing out Utd in the champions league, so another season without silverware. :(

Commentator said it was today - although that still doesn't explain his poor form. A part of me is wondering if the 4-4 Liverpool CL game put the fear in him.

Perhaps.

It's not the first time he's gone wild with rushes of blood to the head. He likes running around trying to do too much, when quite disappointingly it's clear he makes a lot of basic mistakes.

He's a wandering mobile keeper like Gomez and is going to keep making the same mistakes as him.

I think that perhaps this might be compensating for a lack of ability, or maybe he's just been thrown in at the deep end and can't cope. I know keepers tend to get their places later on in their careers compared to an outfield, but 24...hmm...

This Tuesday's going to be so important. With our squad I'd take a draw right now as it'd show we have er "bouncbackability"; something that we can take with us to next season.

The injury situation is quite worrying and it's very strange what's happening to our squad. Wenger years ago when he first arrived at Arsenal (in the midst of integrating wholesale dietry/fitness/lifestyle changes), talked about physique and exercise at length. He talked about not going for players of a certain nature that he believed would be injury prone and spend time out, and yet now, he seemingly has gone against this, and for the majority of the time is picking up small nifety men. Arshavin, Nasri, Walcott, Ramsey, Denilson, Hleb etc., are all those types of players. We can't have an entire squad like that, a mix is needed. When we had Freddie for example, we had Viera, Gilberto and Lauren surrounding him. Only a few years ago he was picking up taller stronger athletes e.g. Gilberto, Toure, Henry.

not looking forward to the match tomorrow. I think we will be bossed in the midfield by a team that want/need it more.

Depends if he plays Fetcher and Carrick.

He does we should be ok but Feallani worries me, hopefullt we stick Fletcher on him and hound him out, Carrick will pass round them if he remembers how to play.

Nani on the left, Ronaldo right, we should be ok.
