Well, a second string 11 taken to penalties, its not that great an achievement, Everton should have had the game out of sight in the 90 minutes.
Tried going for experience rather than putting the young uns "on the spot"
Surely Scholes, Anderson, Tevez are ahead of Vidic/Rio in penalties?
Berba kinda blew that. We didn't really deserve the win but I will take it. I actually would have preferred to play a full strength united, you know how to play against that a bit better.
Our back four where great today but I was equally impressed with uniteds young fullbacks.

Happy for Everton, it's nice to see them get some glory and I genuinely like a lot of their players and their approach, so I'm not all too bothered.

I'm oddly proud of how well our third-string played today, the Da Silvas were great and Gibson was very composed and Macheda looked absolute class at times with his intricate passing, constantly set Welbeck up, if it were anyone else I think we'd have scored. Only Welbeck was poor for us really.
I thought Ferdinand, Vidic, Jagielka, Lescott, Osman, Anderson and Baines were superb today.

Yep. It would seem that either Scholes or Tevez bottled it and didn't want to take 1. More than likely Scholes as Tevez takes them when Ronaldo isn't playing.
You weren't saying that when he scored the countless other penalties including making Chelsea look like mugs in last seasons Carling Cup final with the same sort of penalty.

Thought we played the better football overall but Everton defended well.

if anything this proves fergies point? everton are not some small team.
the reason fergie put out a young squad is because carricks injured, rooneys got a knock, ronaldo needs a rest and to be honest thats why teams have big squads so they can do this. this is Man U not Fulham playing thier youth team...
