FA Cup weekend and midweek Prem Games up to the 27th **SPOILERS**

just got back from OT traffic was horrendus.

match was great, probably the best ive been to for action and excitement, thought we were in for extra time!

things i didnt like: corners..we need to work on our corners, we had like 5 inthe first 15 mins and not one was a decent ball... not even close, they were all miserable in their delivery, fromm giggs and nani!

subbing nani and not giggs? giggs looked very tired and didnt seem to be up for much running but nani was still active, was a bit odd...

3 man midfield that clumped together. carrick barely had a touch in the first half and in the 2nd only partially redeemed himself with a tight goal.

However, Scholes range of passing, from long searching diagonal balls for Nani, and his quick sharp passing in the center of the pitch was a real plasure to watcvh, unlike carrick who seemed to stumble and try to impede the flow of the game as much as possible by dwelling on the ball...

shame we didnt keep tevez really:/

Our corners have been a bit dire all season. Only Vidic and Fletcher really look close to scoring from them, although I think Evans hit the post recently?

Nani was looking pretty tired when he came off, he did have a good match though, his general crossing and willingness to work hard in the recent games has been excellent.

Well just watched the highlights as I had to go out with some customers tonight. On the whole I got to say get the **** in. All bloody week, all I have heard is blue noses, scousers, any chuffer who could get a mic under their pie hole going on about 'A New dawn in English Football', 'A shift in the balance of power', 'A new heavy weight in global football'

Jog On............................

Broken Leg:(

Great ****ing great:(...why the **** can out players not stay bloody fit for the whole damn season is truly beyond me...Wenger seems to buy these players who get injured at the slightest touch ie Rosicky and a few others.

Curse our freaking luck with injuries:(.

Should have beaten Villa in all honesty...now the pressure is on for us to beat Man Utd this weekend along with Chelsea and Liverpool coming up...

Doesnt look good but im hoping we spank Man Utd as we shouldnt have lost our first meeting earlier this season...plus they arent as strong as they normally are.

Well done to Man Utd...cant stand Man City...they are on par with Chelski who i despise just as much....new dawn of English football my hairy arse...they arent consistent enough to be considered in the top 4.

Oh my, HOW did Downing miss that? He's been very good for us but my nan could've put that away! :(

Watching the highlights now, you were indeed bloody unlucky. We've had a few decent chances but nobody seems to want to score for us lately. Villa Park sounded DEAD tonight. Disappointing.
So you heard me screaming the same thing? Draw was fair, boring but fair...

ps3ud0

I do love this thing that Utd fans think City not winning the title/any cups this year will mean Tevez and the likes have failed, its only really people who want City to fail who think they were going to win stuff this year.

Funny thing is for me, that Mancini seems to making exactly the same lineup's and exactly the same mistakes as Hughes. SWP when fit, useless, worthless footballer. About as useful as Theo Walcott, when you play that midfield(which Hughes also did, ultra defensive for no reason) you HAVE to have both wings working well and with SWP there wasn't a hint of danger, he was laughably poor and has been incredibly poor since he was dropped back in.

Then again the news is that City have bid for Alan Johnson so maybe they do realise SWP is utter pants, and Petrov.

I think City could well have won starting a different team, Tevez on the wing instead of SWP, Adebayor upfront(though understandable not starting him at this stage) and dropping Zabaleta for Ireland.

Meh, it was an exciting game and I think a shame we didn't see another 30 mins and penalties(if not for Arsenals sake at the weekend, who how have a happy and better rested team to try and beat :( ).

One thing I thought was truly pathetic was seemingly a few Utd guys having what seemed like a right go at Bellamy for whinging when he got smacked in the head, I think thats one thing you really can't have a got at Bellamy for.

I still can't quite understand Hughes/Mancini's insistance on this 3 man midfield, it only half worked for Utd because Zabaleta and Barry aren't very good and with SWP being so completely ineffective they had a better balance than City. Why both insist on playing SWP when fit, or Petrov, or Zabaleta baffles me. Ireland made more tackles and interceptions and played the ball forward, won it in their own area more than Zabaleta and Barry combined, he's like Fabregas, reads it so well that they are both very effective winning the ball back aswell as great going forwards. Ireland was by far their best player last year.

Arsenal, well meh, swings and roundabouts, just because we closed since the "11 point gap" at the last Chelsea loss(which I think was with a game in hand) Chelsea have thrown points away, if we lose the next 3 we'll actually be further behind without a game in hand. I've said all along, see where we end up after this tough Jan/Feb run and I suspected out of all the cups and out of the league aswell.

Denilson, useless, Campbell, we'll have to see how he can cope. But relying on a guy who ran away like a big girl the last hard game he had for Arsenal doesn't bode well, nor running away from Nott's County. I'll admit I didn't see a huge amount of the Arsenal game as the Manchester Derby was gripping stuff, when I looked up though Bendtner after the first few mins being on, was holding the ball very well and neat passing to get the ball moving to the wings or forward.

If Wenger insists on playing 4-5-1 with useless people in midfield, Bendtner up top who we could get the ball to quickly with Fab/Arshavin getting up to support quickly could work quite well.

Must admit that I was pretty much disgusted with the Man Utd "fans" who were booing Bellamy in the minutes after the corner incident.

Guy gets stuff thrown at his head, and those "fans" boo him?? Yeah....yeah...thats logical. Vermin the lot of them.

Arsenal really needed to win against Villa tonight, I can't see them picking up too many points against Liverpool, United, Chelsea :(

Good point for Villa.

Looks like it could be make or break for Arsenal over these next three games now. We definately need to beat Chelski and Utd.

Could be a bad Febuary :(

Not a good performance from Arsenal last night, but some of the blame falls to Villa and how well they played as a team. Even though a win would have been nice, a draw is never a bad result from Villa Park, especially hitting the woodwork twice, could easily have been different :(. Win on Sunday is needed now

Very worried about CB's now, Campbell is a good fill in every now and again but he's not fit or good enough to play every game. Wenger needs to buy a good CB or the title effort imo is in serious doubt, he's been huge this season. What a fricking disaster, two broken legs in the space of a few months.

Looks like Wenger has crossed o'Neill off his xmas card list. Surely Martin o'Neill should realise by now teams are supposed to roll out the red carpet, lay down and die when playing Arsenal.

O'Neill got massively offended by Wenger simply commenting honestly on the game, anybody who watched that game could see that in the second half practically all Villa did was hoof it up to Agbonlahor. Don't know why he's so offended tbh :/ Wenger wasn't insulting him, just saying they made the game hard by constantly smashing it up to Agbonlahor.

Obviously you don't care about the facts, you'd rather have a dig. I'm personally astonished that O'Neill took offence, he obviously told them all to hoof it as soon as Sol came on, then again I think 15 other premiership managers would tell their team the same, Sol is slow as hell.

Also, Bendtner looked really sharp when he came on, made an error or two straight away but after that got some really good touches in

No excuse to abuse and hate Wenger anymore if you're sensible though :( No headlines to write, no point.

"Villa play a very efficient English game with long balls and very physical."

I think "sensible" people see that as the way it was meant and it was not meant as a compliment. If one of Arsenals chances had gone in then Wenger's interview would have had a very different tone.

It was a positive interview from Wenger and that comment was sandwiched between other compliments. Villa were very physical, but fair, see here -

Wenger said:
It was not a dirty game it was a committed game. I think it was a fair game, but not dirty at all

And Villa also employed the long ball, as it's a sensible choice when Sol was on.

I don't often say rude things, but if you're just commenting to cause arguments, without knowing anything about the situation, just stop and shut up :/

Also,

Wenger said:
"I wish them to have a good run now because they are quality. They are well-organised and have a strong spirit. They are very strong physically and the four in midfield do not stop running and all these players can score goals, so they have a chance. I think they have a very good chance but you have seven teams for four places

Does it sound like he's aggrieved or complimenting Villa :/?

You'll reply with some comment about how terrible and bitter he is since you probably have the same hateful mentality towards him as many people, where you just can't help but hate him, even if he says nice things, your brain will process it into an insult. I feel sorry for people with this thought process

But they do? Whats the problem with that? Any team that has Heskey or Carew is going to play long balls to them, or balls over the top to use the pace of Young/Agbonlahor. They play to their strengths. I don't think they are a typical 'long ball' team, they certainly pass it around, but they will use Heskey's size. They are mainly a counter attack type team, one of the reason that they have had success over Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool.

Or are you going to try and tell me Richard Dunne isn't a physical player?

Wenger also said they are a quality side, good midfield four who score goals. A strong spirit, and he hopes they do well. But people always want to read negative headlines.
