Easy simple and epic. The good ol' days!

What are people's thoughts on the delay of the launch of Facebook Timeline feature due to Timelines.com claiming it breaches their patent of the usage of the word Timelines?

Ah, so that's why its delayed.

Have had it activated for a while using the developer workaround. I quite like the look of timeline, and how it works, but in saying that, I use Facebook once or twice a week, so I'm not a hardcore user or anything.

Yeah that's the only way I have it activated.

Timelines.com started the dispute and then Facebook didn't launch the roll out on the advertised date. Its all gone a bit quiet now.

Timelines are arguing that more than Facebook potentially causing an unwanted association with their business it's the principal that they have the word and it's purpose patented, while Facebook themselves have the words Facebook and Face and will go after anyone who tries to use them.

All seems a bit silly really. Given that Facebook haven't rolled it out under a new name and it's gone quiet, I'd imagine they are in out of court disputes until Timelines agrees on a price.

I've had the Timeline ever since the dev workaround was made known, but in all that time I've never had the 'ticker' on the right-hand side of the main screen - is it known to clash with certain browser extensions or something? Just curious, as I can happily live without it - although the Facebook help pages were no use whatsoever in resolving the issue.

I wondered if it was the piddly screen on my laptop, but it doesn't appear on the 24" monitor hooked up to my tower either ...

At least once a day, Facebook decides to take over 50% of my processor (dual core) on my work laptop, and I have to call Internet Explorer (mandated browser). IE sucks.

That being said, I'd be glad if I could find a way to ditch the ticker.

Hmmm, mine has now gone Live and now have the Timeline as standard

Anyone else? Also when I click other users profiles, its the old one?? Is the idea for only you to see it? :/

I've had Timeline since the announcement at F8 :D

Anyway, you can only see it on the profiles of other users who have Timeline. If they ain't got it, you won't see it.

Has been bothering me for a while because my friends appear to be 50/50 between haves and not haves, so I've had to deal with both the old and the new, gets confusing!

I had to delete open graph from my developer page as it kept putting my profile into timeline.

Timeline has gone live on mine despite not having any open graph enabled apps, can't see my profile page now :(
