But wouldn't that be an issue wen playing games were it appears to be perfect! The crash only happens on 2D. Again with the number of repeats on this same issue it can't be a hardware fault... Or highly unlikley.

Thank you for the support / replies. I will be lookin for a Solution further, and ringing returns managment after technical support, I hope they can describe my test and results And tell me the problem I was having to start with... Because how can they solve a problem they're not Fully aware of?

let me know how far you get if you pursue a complaint regarding the charges etc

Somewhat unsurprisingly, my card's being returned to me. I'll defo be interested in how you get on with a complaint, as there's no point spending £120 on a big paper weight.

i had the same problem...but fairly simple does the hardware work as intended using the factory drivers...No? then it not fit for its use. Overclocking and other drivers is grey area but if does not work out of the box...go to for small claims, does not cost much at all. I have used it twice and have had my money returned everytime....companys live of people who think it to much hassle and bend over ;):)

There is a fix if you do want touse the card. Check my posts in the official 5770 thread in the gfx section.

Just find the default profile in CCC that should be in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE shoud be profiles.xml then change the part that says:

- <Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="15700" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="120000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="132000" />

To:

- <Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="30000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="120000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="132000" />

It will sort the issue. I have 2 of these cards and was havign huge problems. I then found this "fix" then i have had no more issues for a month + I know its not perfect but it does work :)

hope this helps :)

I tried that, my problems were only present in 3d mode though, as opposed to most people's 2d issues. I just got regular "driver stopped responding" errors and the display would go dead occasionally. Just got off the phone with their support and they had no issues after 5 hrs of benchmarks on 2 different rigs and suggested it could be my psu. I thought a 500W psu would be okay considering I'm running pretty much barebones system already, but I'm gonna borrow a psu off a friend and give that a crack. Hassle.

So they say.... I sent my card Thursday afternoon by next day delivery and insured, i was told it would reach them no earlier than 1pm Friday. By 5pm Friday i had the staus "item as finidhed being processed" so my Card certainly didnt get even 5hours on one rig. nvm 10hrs between two rigs.....

I have yet to ring them, but al be making a note of this and the fact they deliver no feedback what so ever! then charge me for allegedly testing the card from the little bit of info they have on the problem being :

"drivers stopped responding" - they dnt know were, why or how, nor bothered to contact me to help further. Poor.

I have also ran the card (powercolour) on two diffrent rigs (intel & AMD) at barebone: (1HD, and the GFx-card).... still stops responding at 2D (desktop apps).

Total Paper wieght !

I might try the fix but being honest i shouldnt have to it is not doing its job correctly out of box..... As is my Damn Ram here.
Painfull

The 2D fix should solve your problems there bro. What PSU are you running out of curiosity? I'll be getting my card back tomorrow so am going to try to find someone who has a spare psu or system I can test it on.

Im going through some pretty similar RMA troubles atm.
Enough to put a long time customer off using OcUK.

it shouldn't really. considering the trouble the guy is having it should be left open to help solve it.

company bashing will get you banned though so don't go too OTP. Maybe the 9.12's have solved this issue otherwise i hope that fix on page one solves your issue.

My PSU is a corsair 520HX which I think is more than efficent for the card as I am pretty much on barebone standard. The second was a 600w OCZ on a AMD base.
If it is a software problem which it is I can understand it's not OCUK fault but that is poor customer service and are we ment to confront them for a refund/replacement or AMD?

Shal try the fix tomorrow when home and keep u updated.

Thanks
