Fake hate crime: Jussie Smollett paid two Nigerian brothers to attack him

You just need to ignore the fact that the case exists because two men, also black, decided the stunt had gone too far.

Might say it was stupid even beforehand but clearly didn't think about it too hard when being offered $3500 by someone who could boost their careers.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. People actually believe that STEM subjects are racist, I've met some
Not a difficult leap if you accept that when equality of outcome is not achieved then the system itself must be at fault. A hell of an appealing coping strategy as you get to offload all of your shortcomings.

Fox News were ripping him to pieces earlier, highlighting the fact that this whole case shows that he is not a good actor, not a good director and not a good casting agent - he hired two big black guys to play two white supremacists. But I'm not surprised at the last comment, it's perfectly in line with Hollywood casting at the moment - black Annie, black Equaliser, etc. :D

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that this will ruin his career. No such thing as bad publicity etc, especially in that line of work.

He's an employee not running his own show and been caught trying dirty tricks to get his employers to pay him more...

People have to want to have the guy on their payroll for him to have a career.

Lewis Hamilton has been seen today showing his support for Jessie Smollett..... :D

I'm not seeing Kevin Spacey being offered roles left, right and centre now despite how good an actor he is... Yes, his behaviour was a little more extreme than this but there's definitely such a thing as bad publicity, even in Hollywood.

Wow what a turnaround, any idea what sentence he will get?

With no previous crimes, and no actual victims, he'll either get a community sentence, or a very short stint in jail. More likely to be the former. Absolutely no chance he'll get whacked with the 15 year max sentence.
