Fallen Earth - post apocalyptic mmo

It's an online only game Dinks. You can kill other players later in the game via faction warfare, but as will all mmo's, you never really complete the game.

For the people buying the game, I got it direct from the www.fallenearth.com, and got an average 400k on download.

Damn downloaded the open beta for this a while ago but forgot about it when I formatted shortly after downloading the client. :(

Any news if there will be a trial (even if its just a day or two) once its properly released, dont really want to buy the game without trying it.

Been playing a few hours now. First impressions, combat is clunky and takes a lot of getting used to, have died loads, its not like a lot of recent mmo's when you can mow through multiple mobs, 2 at once early on and your pretty much dead, so be prepared, it does get a bit easier though once you spend some ap's. I find the weapon switching a pain in the arse, but I like the way you can equip 2 weapons on your back, 2 pistols and 2 1 handers, all visible and ready to use. Can you create a hotkey/macro to draw your weapons or do you have to keep doing the akward CTRL(1-6/mousewheel) to select?

Graphics are sub par for the cost of the game and its subscription rate, it's not the kind of thing I expect in 2009, 2000 yeah. Maybe I was expecting fallout 3 quality in an MMO but it doesnt seem like we are quite there yet but its not bad. Had a few CTD's, some lag due to highly populated starter zones (which is to be expected on launch days).

Overall, I doubt I'll be playing this beyond the month or even week, unless suddenly something grabs me.

Im really getting into this game, quite unique. Im now trying to fin 15Blue chips so i can start making rifles. I pre-ordered from FE themselves for the ATV, I regret it, a horse is free to run!

My name ingame is Eugene Hunt

Yeah, my ATV's been parked since I realised how much it was going to cost to run it.

Made my first proper handgun last night, but if I dual wield two of them I can't see myself being able to afford to keep myself in ammo :)

Making the handgun itself was a marathon - had to buy the skillbooks for handguns, pistol fittings, barrels, firing chambers. Then had to craft each component before the actual gun itself. Mind you, even the simplest gun has much better dps than the zip guns.

Then I had to get the science skill for gunpowder before I could make bullets :D

The only thing that bugs me is that there doesn't seem to be any customisation in the crafting process - the end stats always seem to be the same. Don't think there's any way of creating a better version of the same item.

I think that the 'Improved' skill books you make do the better versions. Im using a Competition Crossbow, didnt like the Zip Guns, so used Rifles instead.

Played it a bit in beta and pretty much hated every minute of it. Slow, dull, completely unexciting and about as ugly as any MMO I have seen in years. Really didn't get on well with it at all.
