Fallout 3 mods

But another thing i dunno if its to do with mods but if i go FPS mode when i pull out my gun it seems to dissapear and then i can no longer look left or right! right now im just checking if its mod releated but it means i have to use 3rd Person which i dont mind!

I have no idea, not something i've ever heard of i'm afraid

Use CASM! It is brilliant. You can set it to save frequently and it apparantly makes a more stable game as well. Someone linked to it on page 1.

Also, there are many fixes if you keep having crashes.

Though if you are getting crashes in a specific place or every time you do something specific then it is certainly a mod conflict.

And if you are using ****, check if you need compatability patches for other mods

Also be aware that the more mods you use, the more likely you are to get crashes. I have put up with a fair few crashes over the time i have played, but i believe that it is worth it.

Oh and i tried that Error fixes mod i posted about 20 posts ago and it hasn't caused any problem and i haven't had any CTD's since installing so it all seems good

Yes, you need a compatability patch for **** and MMM. Without one you will definitely get ctd's.

Also you need the hotfixes for **** which are on the **** download page on the Nexus

You can only get it from the FOOKUNITY website amd it is the signature of the member BAN. Do not download the compatability patch from the Nexus as it is out of date.

Otherwise the load order is ok, except i don't know what Overhead 3p camera is, but i imagine for it to work at all you would need to load it after ****. Is it working?

I would probably also put DUI and Underground hideout as your first esp's though it doesn't really matter.

Whatever your order though you want ****>MMM>Weather as your last mods out of those

*** I did post an example of mine earlier on with **** and MMM

I prefer Kelsey to Jessi a bit. I occasionally use them but not all the time.

Sydney is the best companion by a mile. She is off doing her quest in my game atm though, so i am using Lucy West and Charon

I picked up the game retail [GOTY Edition], installed it, patched it and added FOOK2 1.0. The game always crashes a short while whenever I encounter raiders. Any ideas? I really want to get back into FO3.

For a start, i believe that ****" 1.2 is the latest version, so you might have an outdated one. If you have to update, you must delete ALL old folders first otherwise it will not work.

Are you sure you have all of the file you need?

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4448

Go to file and download all of them.

Lastly, make sure you have them in the right load order.

If you are only using ****, it should be quite easu to get it working, and you shouldn't get any ctd's

Good luck mate

Seem to have it stable with these mods:

Don't think slower degradation is working though.

Can't install weather mod, just get random freezing, tried loads of different orders.

Nice one.

If slower degredation doesn't work it might be conflicitng with WMK?
Maybe try loading it last?

In regards to the weather mods, are you trying Enhanced weather and Dynamic weather?
I posted a load orer with both on i think and i had them very last in my load order.

I don't have Fellout in my load order though as i have it in ****

Here is a recently added mod which is becoming very popular - Unarmed Rearmed

It's been out 2 weeks and already has 41 endorsements!!

I have been playing with it a bit, but unfortunately my unarmed skill is rubbish, so i don't get the best out of it

Unarmed Rearmed - By GymE and LEIT

This mod will replace the 3rd person unarmed power attacks, the neutral melee power attack, and unarmed fighting stance with super cool martial arts style kicks. more to come...
Here are some images uploaded to the nexus-

I'm gonna start putting my unarmed stats up now!!

Repairing is pretty good with ****, you can repair with scrap metal and other scrap such as sensor modules, electronics etc for energy weapons. Also, any weapon that has the same ammo can be used to repair an item, so some lase pistols can repair the Guass rifle.

Coincidentally, i am in a similar position to you, with my Guass rifle broken, ihave to use Jessi to repair it.

I see you have disabled MTC wasteland travellers. so have i, it caused a lot of instability. I fear i will have to do the same with DC Interiors as well

Have you played through Vault 101 revisited yet?

I've just done a few more quests for Vault 101 Revisited. Excellent stuff:)

First i kitted myself out with some Outcast armour

The i made my wasy to the Dunwhich Building to start the quest

And into the cave where i met these Nightmare Bears and their leader. They are very tough and the leader is probably the hardest creature i have faced

Unfortunately, whilst spraying my laser pistol around i disintegrated Dogmeat:(

Then i got into the main chamber to find a load of nutjobs dancing around and it got a little bit surreal......

This is the point where you get to choose which ending you want for the quest. I ended up choosing the light ending as opposed to the dark one.

This really is a fantastic mod. It is very hard though

I've just done Zeta.
Awesome!!

Got any screenshots?:D

I accidentally started it during my game, but loaded an earlier save so i still haven't done it

Everyone says it's the weakest one but it's great!.

Mothership Zeta Crew mod adds a whole other layer of epicness to it as well. I played it ages ago on a different playthrough and loved it. They have added quite a bit to it since then though.

This Archiveinvalidation Invalidated thing, do you have to run this everytime you install a new mod or is it a one time activation thing?

Edit: Another noddy question. I downloaded FOOK2 1.2beta, ie. the main file, hotfix, and the 3 data files, i.e. part 1, 2 and 3. The data files have the extension .7z.001, 002, 003. I tried opening the first data file direct with winrar and it says it is corrupt. Am I opening it correctly? Winrar has opened all the other .7z files I've downloaded, its just these ones are out of the ordinary in that they have the 001 etc extension. They appear to not be ascociated with a program in explorer, that's why I tried opening them in winrar manually. Any ideas?

You only have to run Archiveinvalidation once

As for the FOOK2 files, i installed them through 7z, as Winrar wouldn't do it for me. Maybe it has something to do with the filenames ending in 001 etc, i'm not sure.
I do know that you definitely should NOT rename them:)

I found thagt the data files only worked when i opened the 7z file manager then found the files

Yeah, this is a common problem and is in the troubleshooting on the FOMM page on Nexus, but because i'm in a good mood, i'll copy and paste it for you;)
Then anyone who has the problem can find it here as well.
The single most asked question:
Q. I get the "Unable to get write permissions for fallout's installation directory" error. How do I fix it?
A. This happens when you are running Vista or Windows 7 and have installed Fallout 3 in the Program Files folder. You need to do one of the following:

  • Disable UAC (not recommended).
  • Move Fallout 3 outside of the Program Files folder (e.g., C:\Games\Bethesda\Fallout 3). This may require a reinstall. I know with Oblivion you could just copy the game folder to a new location, run the game, and all would be well. I'm not sure if that works with Fallout 3.
  • In theory you should also be able to run FOMM as administrator. You can try this by right-clicking on the FOMM shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator." Alternatively, right-click on the shortcut, select Properties->Compatibility and check "Run this program as an administrator."

The best thing to do in order to avoid other problems, and the generally recommended solution, is to install Fallout outside of the Program Files folder.

This might be worth a download-

Fallout Master Fix

It is a combination of fixes to reduce ctd's, it includes a few of the other fix mods

INTRODUCTION:
This mod goals to fix most of the problems found in Fallout 3. Very extensive work has gone into this mod as it combines hairylegs222's work and the work of ccmechanic2. While this may be based on the combined work of 2 mod authors, the rest of the team is going to be rounding up more bugs, and glitches that need to be fixed and do it. What you will see from this is significantly reduced CTDs(crash to desktop) and much smoother play with increase frame rates

MOD COVERAGE:
This mod's goal is to cover all areas of the game, right now it covers everything that is in the INVISIBLE WALL REMOVER and the ERROR CORRECTIONS - REDUCE CTD mods.

It is a wip, but it looks promising:)
