Yeah it's a beast. It has 0 spread as well so when you get your small guns stats to 100 the bullets will always go exactly where you are aiming. It can also be repaired with standard hunting rifles. :)

I just started a brand new game, had finished the main quest and I was just starting out on Broken Steel again when I got bored and decided to restart from the beginning. I've just finished the Wasteland Survival Guide, killed Mr Burke and defused the bomb in Megaton, completed the Replicated Man quest in Rivet City, finished the Blood Ties quest, did a few other bits and pieces as well. Oh, and I took a trip over to Tenpenny Tower, went into the Boutique Le Chique with a stealth boy equipped and then reverse pickpocketed a mine into that womans dress. She blew up, I nabbed her key and took everything from her store then snuck back out. :)

By the way when you get the chance make sure you make the dart gun, it's one of the best weapons in the game as a single shot instantly cripples the enemies legs and starts draining health per second meaning you can kill most enemies in the game with it, without taking any damage as you can just back pedal while they amble slowly toward you. :p

You can get schematics for it from Tenpenny Tower and the MDPL power station which is in the north west corner of the map, near to Raven Rock. You do need to kill a Radscorpion for it's poison glands though, I think the other items you need will be a toy car, surgical tubing and a paint gun, as well as the poison gland. The darts you find in ruined houses are your ammo and seeing as they are pretty much everywhere and in big numbers per box you should never really run out. 1 shot will kill most enemies and 2-3 shots for the larger and more powerful enemies will do the trick.

the dart gun sounds great! i built the railway rifle last night and i was a bit disapointed to be honest.. :( the damage isn't so great, and it only holds 8 rail spikes in a clip. i may as well just use a hunting rifle unless i want to pin someones head to a wall. lol.

i think im gonna get the dart gun later on! just out of interest, to reapir the dart gun, can you use a specific weapon or can you only get it repaired by an NPC?

after i finish this i really want to get the expansions. do they jus expand the main map, so you can walk further?

I saw that in the guide, sounds an awesome weapon and now I have done the survival guide quest I might take a trip to tenpenny and get the schematic for the dart gun. for some reason I have the poison gland already and I'm pretty sure I have everything else to make the weapon. Just hope I have the skill to make weapons.

Yeah I didn't really like the Railway Rifle either, the only good thing about it like you say is the ability to pin people to walls although it does make a pretty good noise when you fire it as well! :p

There's a crazy guy running around the Wasteland with one, that was the first time I saw it and after using it I never bothered to make it as it felt a bit underwhelming really, not very powerful at all.

To repair the Dart Gun you can give it to an NPC or you acquire more than one schematic. You can have a maximum of 3 schematics and the more you have the better condition the weapon is in when you first make it. The Dart Gun degrades very slowly as well and should last you a fair while even with only 1 schematic. The best way to repair I find is to sneak behind a high repair skilled person, reverse pick pocket it into their inventory and then take it back, sometimes if you give it to certain Scribes it'll come back at 100% with no cost to you whatsoever. :D

With the expansion packs they do expand the game world but not really the original map. What happens is that say you have Point Lookout for example, a ferry will be at the very bottom of the map and you'll get a quest in your Pip Boy telling you where the boat is. If you go to that boat you can then be transported to Point Lookout which is a whole other island on it's own. I think with Mothership Zeta you go to the crashed alien ship in the Wasteland and then you get beamed up to the Mothership and that begins that particular expansion. Hope that helps. :)

The schematic in Tennpenny Tower costs about 700 caps I think and you can get two of them. One from the humans and then if you let the ghouls take over you can get one from them as well, it was a bit early in the game for me when I acquired it so I couldn't really afford 700 caps which is why I killed her and took the key myself, funnily enough I'm still on good karma as well!

The schematic in the power station is free although getting there if you don't have many good weapons can be a right pain in the ass as the Deathclaw Sanctuary is not far from it, also you'll encounter a lot of annoying enemies on the way such as RadScorpions, ewwww. :(

Oh and don't worry, you don't need any specific skill stats to build custom weapons. All you need is a workbench, the items and a schematic. Workbenches are everywhere in the game world but the one I think that's easiest to find and the one I use all the time is the one in Moira's Craterside Supply. :)

One other custom weapon that's good is the ShishKebab. Vance from The Family gives it to you during the Blood Ties quest if you manage to convince him to stop attacking Arefu he will give you the schematics for it, it's a very powerful weapon and everything you need to build it can be found in the minefield.

Well after your advice I went to Tenpenny and landmined the woman in the boutique and took all her stuff. lol.

Now made the dart gun and it's amazing! I went off to GNR and in the subway station got attacked by Ghouls, shot them all in the legs, and they cam charging towards me only to fall down dead trying to attackme at my feet. :D

Right I got some Power Armour from outside GNR (nothing special about it) but I want to be able to use it, what do I have to do to get training to use it?

i wouldn't bother even hanging on to it. because it will only weigh you down and you'll get plenty more later on. just dump it. you cant get trained for it just yet. when you do get trained for it, there will be better power armour on offer by then. :p

I stored it in my house at Megaton.

Jesus I thought I would pop over to the National Archives to nick the decleration of Independence. It's no easy task!!

lol, ive only just done that quest and im on level 14! even i thought it was a struggle with all the robots and robogurads hanging around. those pulse mines came in handy. i hate the quicker robots on wheels :(

I'm half way up level 9 at the moment. I wasn't too sure where to go as the silly bint who barricaded herself in the Rotund got killed (I did steal all her mines first). Then I started looking round the res of the building, got to some sort of basement and there were super mutants EVERYWHERE!

One even set fire to another one stood in the doorway as he was trying to get me! I got slaughtered by one of them with his giant hammer!!

Not sure whether to restart my save from Megaton before I go to the museum and try to save her, or just carry on fromwhere I got to and leave the bloody thing til I have levelled up some more.

I'd leave that one until you've levelled up a bit, when you do finish that one though make sure you take her 10mm SMG, it's absolutely epic and one of the most powerful weapons in the game, alternatively if you keep her alive she'll just give you it. I've started again yesterday and I'm a level 10 at the moment, I was thinking about starting that quest but I think I'll leave until I'm about a level 20, just makes it so much easier when you're an uber killing machine. :D

Just started "you gotta shoot 'em in the head". You get it from going to the ghoul town, Underworld. Mr Crowley gives you it and he can usually be found in the bar or lying down sleeping in the next room. Basically you have to kill 4 "bigots" and give Mr Crowley proof that you've killed them, in this case each of the 4 targets has a special key that you have to return to Crowley. Some of the targets are in tricky places such as Rivet City where pwning someone in broad daylight will get you into trouble so you can pass speech challenges in order to get the keys from them peacefully, thus tricking Mr Crowley into thinking they're dead.

Once you've got all the keys and given them to Crowley he pays you 100 caps on top of the caps he pays you for each key and then he buggers off to the top of the map without telling you why. What he's actually needing the keys for is to gain access to a special area where the most powerful armor in the game is located. You can actually get the whereabouts of the armor from one of the assassination victims, if you head there yourself you can nab it for yourself and then use it later on in the game once you get the power armor training from one of the scribes in the Citadel. Or you can just give him the keys, let him do all the hard work and then when he returns blast him in the face with a rifle and steal the armor off of his rotting, cold corpse. :p

Oh, and I paid Dave a visit in the Republic of Dave, they have a vote to decide which of the 5 adults in town become the president of the republic of dave, you can actually rig the vote and dave will leave town in a huff. He says he's going to Old Olney to set up a new Republic of Dave but will usually get killed by a Deathclaw on the way. If you go with him and protect him until he gets there he actually just sits in an alley and says "Go away, this is the new Republic of Dave" :p :D

Lol nice! Some nice tips there, thanks.

When she died I took her 10mm SMG from her body. :D

My last save is just by the door that takes you back out into the Capital Wasteland by the trap that's rigged to the bookcase, I think I will leave it and push on elsewhere.
