Hey guys, just started playing the pc version after 100+ hours on the 360, i was going to wait to get the pc version until the GOTY edition comes out but couldn't resist a little modding action
there wasn't much about mods on the main threat so i thought i would start one, the aim of this thread is to inform and assist those of us that like the game and want more with the game less than 2 weeks old (well 3 for the yanks) there are already 100's of mods with many more in the pipeline things can get a little confusing and the Bethesda forums are a little uncivilised at times.... just like the wastes lol
So what you running? thinking about dipping your toes in the waters of modding? or are you working on a mod and would like to let the good folk of OCUKF know
i'll start things off
i'm running only a few mods to start with as i don't want to overload it and take away from the stock game much
all the following mods are from the Fallout NV nexus
the first thing you will need is New Vegas mod sorter a great little tool for sorting your mod load order and also makes installing and removing mods easy as pie
first off i'm using the d3d9.dll most of you from the other thread already know about it but for those that don't it makes the game run better, not much more i can say about it it just works so if your having problems running the game smooth then give it a try, there is 2 versions 1 for Nvidia and one for AMD i'm using he custom AMD version and works a treat
next up i hate the fact getting somewhere to stash your stuff early on without using victors shack is a pain so i'm using Goodsprings Home nice little home to start with complete with all mod cons lol and plenty of storage
i'm also using a weight mod as i hate going backward and forwards to drop all me loot off so here's the better strong back mod it's basicly a replacement for the strong back perk and has 4 different versions ranging from 100 to 1000lb instead of 50 for the stock version it's also available around level 4/6 can't remember
also in my load order is MTUI it optimises the UI for higher res screens and cuts on scrolling in menu's and speech boxes
and last up for now an old favourite from Fallout 3 Pipboy_Readius there is a little problem with this mod here's a pic to show you
and
but i'm sure it will get fixed soon and it does look way cool in use
well that's all for now so if you have found a great mod and would like to share it post a link and let the rest of us know what you've found also if you need any help i will be on hand as much as possible and i'm sure there are other fallout 3 mod fans around here that can help
