Fallout: New Vegas

So, done a search of the thread but can't find an answer - what is the deal with bobbleheads and snow globes in this game?

Bobbleheads in F3 gave you extra perks and there was plenty of them

Snow globes in NV are just collectibles and there are only 7 of them. You can turn them in at a certain place for 2k caps each

I continue to get confused and lost with side quests. It is actually very impressive how the quests all chain into each other - trying to "keep in" with your favourite factions actually seems pretty tough sometimes. I have to laugh at all the people who said the game was rushed/lacked content. The sheer scale of the game (including the voice overs alone) is mind blowing - even though the engine/tools were in place it must have been a lot of work. So far I am enjoying it at least as much as FO3, if not more. Making a lot of caps now and unlike FO3 am not hording anything and actually spending caps on things I need. Can see me taking a long time just to finish off my first playthrough :)

Same!

i also have an asus soundcard

Starting to seem a little suspect then. If it was happening all the time I would change to onboard sound, but given it happens every 2-4 hours I am not really complaining. Gives me time for a toilet/snack break :p (nearly typed that as a snake break - that might have looked a little dodgy!) :D

I was having crashes with my Xonar D2 too. Turns out that it's DS3D GX causing the problems and someone here suggested that I turned it off. Haven't had a crash since then. :)

Yeah, had that as well, sadly not much you can do other than alternate Save files and hope it doesn't happen too often.

It just happened again, now with those bloody Cazador's. I'm walking along, game crashes this time, reload and they're there.

What gun do I need to blow the heads of these things? They always attack it swarms and use that sting attack. I'll spend all my caps if I have to.

Flamer.

I've just encountered my first bug of note. A showstopper, I guess I shall have to reload a much earlier save unless someone has a good idea.

While hunting after running severla NCR quests, I donned a caesar's legion armour by mistake, it seemed to set caesars to non-hostile, and set NCR to hostile, removing the armour has no effect.
I simply can't approach NCR without wearing NCR armour, and in any camps I am set upon by the NCR guards. Just been to Nelson wiped out Caesars and took the camp for the NCR, freed the prisioners, and gained fame, yet still getting shot to crap as if i am in with Caesars.

Any way to fix this, or do I have to track back several hours of saves instead?

Positives of PC is you have access to the console. Im no expert but i bet you can do something in the console to reset it

^^AMD released the 10.c driver which has improved peoples' running of the game by quite a lot. Crossfire works better now, thank goodness.

On a separate note, maybe I am stating the obvious but perhaps because I chose hardcore mode I've noticed that there aren't quite so many battles as when I played through FO3. This I prefer, it seems better balanced, and of course, a little more realistic. I'd rather it be that more games were like this. :)
