Fallout TV series being developed by Amazon

I think I'm just fed up with absolutely everything major being female led. It would be nice to balance it out a bit with a few male leads. Seems like you have to look for AA TV for more male led TV like Reacher, The Night Agent etc
I can see how it feels like that sometimes although in some cases, the story fits a female character better - Constellation for example wouldn't really suit a male lead.

Personally, because you could choose to be either female or male in the game, the story hasn't been butchered to suit, so no problem (sort of)

The "sort of" being if the character behaviour reinforces certain social narratives - strong independant woman who don't need no man - inffectual, obsequious men or exaggerated arrogance.

shes a modern gen z type character it doesn't fit the fallout world in my view
I'm usually the one who moans about forced diversity but the black guy is the best character in this imo and well cast.

shouldn't she be more scared of the outside world and people who aren't human? she seems completely indifferent to everything,
its just weird.

It literally feels like a cartoon, first few eps are decent but then it starts to drag on, its kinda like the mandalorian format copied to fallout

wonder if sweetbabyinc were involved

Oh, I see. Fair enough. I'll watch a few eps and see how it goes.

Blimey Guardian gave it 5 stars, might have to watch this afterall

5 Stars from the Guardian almost reinforces what we've been discussing :)

Why does the writer look like she's just lost her Momentum membership card?

Just watched the first episode really enjoyed it, looks great on my LG oled, so long as the series entertains me that's all that I am worried about.

On a totally different note finished Under The Banner Of Heaven last night, that portrayed the Church of Latter Days Saints in a pretty bleak way, good cast in it though ;)

Cheers All

First episode down, everything seems Fallout-y so far in it's janky/non serious way :)
And if I hear anyone complain and use the word 'woke' because they dared to have a woman in it I'll assume any following comments are from someone I don't need to interact with

Watched the first episode, they've absolutely nailed the visual and audio of the world. So many little nods to things from the games, it's clear they're passionate about it. It was darker and more gory than I expected it to be (don't think much of that had been in the trailers) but that is a positive. Story seems good so far, staying spoiler free but the vault stuff was brilliant.

From the first 2 eps it's a winner in my book. Seems to be doing a good job nailing the look and telling a story of its own. I don't watch a lot of Amazon stuff but the poor bitrate stood out to me especially in the few blinding white out shots.

Just finished Ep 1, and boy was I not expecting that!
Everything was absolutely spot on, from the vaults to the weapons (junk cannon), vending machines, crops, posters, Tv's, raiders, BOS etc etc, just brilliant!!
Loads and loads of gore and violence, and so far the story is bang on the money.
I've tried to stay away from reviews, but some of the stuff I've seen on socials suggested it was a wokefest, but that's what not I saw, at all.
Plenty of humour in there as well, especially the curtains scene early on
Bring on the weekend so I can daytime drink and binge the rest in one go.

They seem to be going wacky wasteland style. I wouldn't have chosen it, but I don't dislike the style. It does technically fit the games the best.

And I've enjoyed most of the show so far.

Just finished Ep2. Leaving the rest for the weekend.
I have to agree. So far so good. Not the absolute best thing i've ever watched. However its pretty damn enjoyable so far and easily enough to want to continue watching through to the end.

To get in the mood I'm running the Pip-Boy theme on my Galaxy Watch:p

Watched an hour and I agree with the 4 out of 5 reviews. Not the best thing ever but still very good for a game adaptation. Enjoyed what I watched :)
