Fallout TV series being developed by Amazon

Watched the first Episode, and I think I'm done with it already. Scrawny women, black and trans representation is strong with this one.

Can't they get some good actors? Who the hell are these people?

What, black and transgender people in the same show? Did they not put a warning up about this at the beginning?

That's weird. Say's it's £2.99 to be ad-free for movies and TV shows. As if £95 a year wasn't enough.

Any way, I don't want to fallout with the mods for derailing this thread about subscription charges.

Do you need it to be ad free? I have seen like 1 add after watching many episodes of Reacher and yet to see one watching Fallout.

Just press play and watch mate. It is free if you have prime.

Watched it all. Suprisingly good. A few moments didn't click but overall (e.g some of the acting....the main guy, Maximus, is good in some places but goes very odd in others!) good to watch and some interesting storylines developing. It's not 'woke'. 7.9/10.

Walter Goggins is as good as ever and the Lucy character does, thankfully, develop quite well over the season.

No ads.

Consider yourself lucky! I've seen two commercial breaks during Fallout, the first with two adverts at 1.40 minutes long then a shorter 30 sec advert a bit later. It may be free with prime, but not free from adverts ;).

I'll take your advice and watch the next episode though!

Finally finished it - that was surprisingly good for a game adaptation. There are some changes in the Canon which might annoy some hardcore fans, but it will be interesting to see where the next season goes.

I’m on the third episode and haven’t had any ads yet and I’m on the normal ad version. Really enjoying it so far.

The OcUK branch of the Taliban were never going to like it tbh. They’ll all flock in once the Critical Drinker and other scum ‘review’ it.

Tim Cain, who was one of the creators of the original Fallout, liked it:

I am halfway through second episode and not had a single ad. Enjoying it so far. Don't see any woke or anything like that so far.

Enjoying the power armour bits :)

It's a shame they didn't expand on what ghouls actually are. I assume they are mutants from the radiation, but nothing explained how they have survived for so long

Watched the first two episodes and loving it.

Only ever played Fallout 4 and never finished it, but amazing how true to the game world everything actual is - so many little details

Personally I was offended at the overseer being a white man, played by a well rounded actor no less. Utterly disgusting

Nearly spilled my ale on my string vest.

Thanks for the warning...... It is Amazon after all

(lord of the rings)

Will check it out though, but if it's too bad I just wont watch any more

I watched a couple of episodes Thursday night and really enjoyed it, it seemed to hit the nail on the head for Fallout as far as I'm aware and even as a casual fallout fan I was really enjoying spotting all the references.
My friend who is an absolutely massive Fallout fan (he's basically played 3, 4 and Vegas constantly for a decade or so, with all sorts of mods, hardcore mode etc) and he is loving it, as is his wife who has apparently never played the games and is only aware of it through watching him play a bit, this to me suggests they've got a good mix of "for the fans" and "people who are new to this can get into it" which is really good.

I'm probably going to try and watch it with my dad starting from episode one again Saturday night, as my dad tends to really enjoy sci-fi stuff and it's the sort of thing he's enjoyed in the past (Supernatural, GOT, Tremors, Andor, Snowpiercer, Walking Dead etc).

Just finished Ep8. Thoroughly enjoyed the first season to be fair. Still blown away by how true they kept to the theme/aesthetic. There is no mistaking it, this is Fallout through and through.
It wasnt without some "filler" and over elongated "origin" backstory. However, it all sort of worked out.
I'm not going to get any further caught up in this woke/anti-woke BS other than to say, even if the characters were cast in any sort of pro "DE&I" way it didnt have any bearing at all on the story. Other than what has been brought up here I didnt even notice it overtly in the show. I just enjoyed it for what it is and I eagerly await Season 2.

My only gripe is that it was over far too quickly.

Behave or find somewhere else to troll

Fallout:New Vegas, which was released in 2010,had many gay characters(including two of the main companions),etc. Nobody had any problems back then and it is still considered one of the greatest RPG games of the last 20 years.

The Fallout series from the beginning had a very diverse set of characters and races anyway - people who complain about diversity in the series, obviously haven't paid attention to the games or the lore. The Shi from Fallout 2 were one of the most technical advanced factions and were Chinese.

Well I have played over 2000 hours of Fallout 3,Fallout:New Vegas,Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 and modded many of the games. Also watched lots of the excellent fan films such as Fallout:Nuka Break. Own the first two Fallout games(not played much of them) but read a lot of the lore.

There are some changes to the timeline and progression of the lore from the first two games, that some of the hardcore fans might have an issue with(because the original games and the Bethesda games are somewhat different). However, the look, the feel and the grittiness looks right, and the story is engaging enough. There are lots of little details they have picked up on from all the games. It's quite clear the people who made this have played the games themselves.
