Fanboyism

I only mentioned you in a light hearted manor, was mainly regarding the comment about not being able to enjoy Final Fantasy without playing the 360 RPGs you mentioned, or something like that.

Heh :) no problem. I was actually being sarcastic in that comment but I failed completely to put that accross and woke up to a lot of stick. My own fault really as I should have made sure it was understood before I turned my laptop off.

Nope, there is no way to do it as you need to have clear cut black and white definitions to be able to ban something, and some muppets mistake simple opinions for fangirl remarks.

The best thing you can do is not take the bait and RTM blatant trolling and they will get dealt with.

I am massively against banning discussions comparing competing products, as it is critical to have that discussion for me to assess which products to purchase.

Owning all consoles does not give you the upper hand either (in fact it only ever seems to make fanboys more vocal), as people like Nanoman, Alrik, Robert and me clearly have a huge bias towards one of the systems despite owning (either currently or at one time) both the "hardcore" consoles.

True. I have all of them and the PS3 is ****!!

Kidding but it is frustrating everytime I want to play a game I have to download a system update, and it takes about 20 mins. I'm waiting for it to finish now!

Just found where you sourced this from. HE always seems to post biased **** or just **** whenever. I have played on both xbox360s and ps3s and can say that I prefer the PS3. I don't own either being honest, but I'd be more likely to buy a PS3 (I own a PS2) because I've always preferred sony's controllers over xbox ones, but that doesn't mean I hate xboxes. Personally though I prefer PCs over all of them :D

Too late to ninja edit it now. :( My intentions were never to start a back and forth dispute over sony vs microsoft. I was just shocked at how good the MS conference was. I just wanted to know if Sony had anything big planned that I didn't know about.

No one in that thread called me out on the thread title. It was a pretty good thread in terms of no fanboy comments.

I would like to see persistent fanboyism being stopped. There are some people on here that do blatantly troll threads with it over extensive periods of time. Is there any way to say ban them from console gaming for a week or something as a warning?

That's been mentioned several times. The problem being it wouldn't stop the problem (fanboys would still go into multiple forums) and would just divide the community more. Although i only own a 360 currently I do enjoy discussing all 3 platforms with the majority of the other members on here.

Thats been talked about in the past. The mods on here look down on the console forum as a joke.

This is the only forum I like posting on. I can't stand 5 minutes reading gametrailers forum with out getting a headache.
