Should fanboys who blatantly flame threads be suspended?

Seen so many threads turned into petty arguments over nVidia v ATI that these forums are starting to remind me of my 2 kids.

People will buy whichever card they feel meets there gaming requirements, fine you may not agree with what they have bought but why trash a thread over and over again?

SeanyK's thread is 1 example. He went from a ATI x1900 to a 7900GTX and that decision has created a thread that's turned into a playground war lol.

Just be happy, you may not agree with peoples decisions but it's not your money being spent.

The thread you mentioned isn't that bad at all. A few people asked him why he made the switch, but I for one understand his reasoning (he doesn't want to void his warranty using aftermarket cooling on the X1900.)

There's been much worse threads recently.

PS. This thread is also going to turn into a fanboy war. Just my prediction. :p

Yes, but I don't think posting another thread about it is going to help - there's been many warnings from the dons before as they're getting sick and tired of it.

It's been done in the past and it's quietened it down for a month or two, but there's always a hard core group that seem to always be involved in the petty bickering that seems to erupt over these sort of topics.

Can anyone on these forums actually say that they have stuck with one manufacturer or the other?

I can't imagine anyone who can honestly say they have only EVER purchased ati cards (or nvidia cards).

I think people just like a good argument OR that they are a bit miffed that they spent £300+ on a card a few months ago and it's already been superseeded with a better model. I think a lot of people are trynig to justify their purchase to themselves. The thing is, nobody else cares

I think in all my years of pc building I have had pretty much a 50/50 mix

What you said is very right mate regarding peoeple trying to justify their own purchase to themselfs.
I just buy whatever is the best out at the time if I am looking to upgrade ofcourse, for example my first Graphics Cards were nVidia, the best one I had was my first ATi, then I was looking to go with nVidia again this time around, but then seen the X1900 Series and decided that ATi was the best to go with again.
Its not because I dislike one or the other, there both very very good.

I have used both brands and I don't have any favourite as I buy whichever brand/model offers me the best performance for my money at that particular moment in time.

This is exactly the case with me as I have in total bought 4 graphics cards in the last 6 years (since I first had a PC), 2 of them have been nVidia and 2 of them have been ATI.

Me too my favourite card ever in terms of the length I had it and the price was my ATI 9800 pro. This was a fantastic card and I loved it.

The card I had before that was a GF4 MMX 440 lol :) and the card I had before that was an ATI rage fury pro lol :p

I have had a mixture of both and dont find myself drawn to any camp.I make judgements on what suits me at the time and weigh up the pros and cons of the individual cards helping me finalising my decision.

Quoted for truth. If two cards perform equally, I buy the cheapest in most cases. This is the reason I would buy an X1900XT over a 7900GTX any day, despite the fact that certain members here find that notion ridiculous and have fanboyish knee-jerk reactions when you bring it up impartially.
