Fantasy Football 09/10

Well that sux'd, had 20 end of play saturday, had 4 players playing Sunday (inc torres, owentwat, ferdicrap) and still only ended sunday with 25 lol, :p

My team is 'Clock End FC'.
I think I'm just gonna take the hit on the guys not playing in the midweek games, wish I'd checked the fixtures first. I knew Arsenal weren't playing, I forgot that there'd be others involved in Europa league business.
65 points is a steady if unspectacular start. Reasonably pleased so far.

No point using the Wildcard for this week. You may as well either accept that half your team won't play and lose points that way, or make a bunch of transfers and lose points on the extra transfers. You're actually probably better making the few transfers and lose 4 points on each extra one - if you pick the right people, then you'll come out ahead compared to leaving half your team not playing.

Save the Wildcard for a few weeks in, once form has been reasonably established and you can swap out all the rubbish in your team in one go.

This is the 1st time Im ever playing this...so i can only make 1 transfer?
You can make as many transfers as you like, but only the first one of that gameweek is "free". Every transfer you make after that takes four points off your total score (at the start of the next GW).

Wait, why does midweek count as gameweek 2  I swear midweek games have always counted as part of the gameweek before.
Only if there's one or two fixtures - then they're added to an existing GW. In this case, there was a full fixture schedule for midweek, but four games are off due to European commitments.

Last :/

What's the point in naming subs if they aren't drafted in when your players get injured
Are you looking at your team page? If so, it will be the same as when you selected it pre-GW1. Auto subs should be reflected on the "Latest Points" page.

Theoretically if you could have all 4 defenders from a team who played all 90 mins and conceded 6 they'd still only have -4 collectively. Just seems far too lenient. A negative point per goal conceded would be better.

I think the point system for defenders/keepers works well how it is. The only way you'd get a better representation would be to do them individually but then it would become too complicated imo.

71 Points here, and the daft thing is I had Nani & Toure both on sub because of their injuries yet they both played?!?!?

Arrrrrrgh!

Oh well at least I'm 7th and number 1 in my works league!

:o

I know what you mean, a player who lets in 5 goals in 60mins and then gets subbed for being so hopeless won't lose any points at all (assuming no points won or lost for other things).

Personally I think it's been done as a way of stopping players getting punished so heavily for letting in a single goal, as it's bad enough missing out on the 4pt clean sheet bonus.

What you can do if you're not sure about injuries is to pick the players and set your sub order accordingly. Can be a bit of risk though as they may not play the whole match (e.g. Nani got subbed early).

7th too :p

Im very pleased with my team, didn't have Fabregas. Carrick didn't play either.

I do have Arshavin, Eduardo, Friedel, Dempsey, C. Cole, Jacobsen and Jimenez who dont play mid-week. God knows what Im going to do :p
