*** Far Cry 2 1680 x 1050 max settings Top List ***

i always feel that i have a 9800gtx just so we have an entry for one in all our benchmarks

i hate my graphics card :(

Lol, that benchmark of 160fps was just me being a bit silly. After I installed the 180.42 drivers, i had that glitch where the screen stayed black, but the first thing I did was try a benchmark so i didnt know about it, for some reason the result came out like that, I guess because nothing was actually being rendered or something... I'm still fastest nvidia though :P

UPDATE*

did a second run last night of the benchie this is the result gonna upset the GTX280 owners

Got hold of a EVGA GTX 260 'Superclocked' today. My 9800gx2 was displaying the early signs of "memory overheated and is about to die". So its off to BFG land to get replaced.

In the mean time I have been pretty impressed with this 260. It plays better in DX10 than in DX9?! These are 1920x1200 resolution (native).

DX9

DX10

Will post 1680x1050 when I done the benchies.

Here's a DX10 run with the spec of the rig in the sig

and a DX9 Run

This is run with the 4870X2 at stock and with the hotfix drivers.

Updated with DX9 now running Ultra settings

Should Far Cry 2 benefit from Crossfire? I don't seem to be seeing any benefit at all - even with the hot fix.

Should Far Cry 2 benefit from Crossfire? I don't seem to be seeing any benefit at all - even with the hot fix.

Settings: Demo(Ranch Medium), 1920x1200 (60Hz), D3D10, Fixed Time Step(No), Disable Artificial Intelligence(No), Full Screen, Anti-Aliasing(8x), VSync(No), Overall Quality(Ultra High), Vegetation(Very High), Shading(Ultra High), Terrain(Ultra High), Geometry(Ultra High), Post FX(High), Texture(Ultra High), Shadow(Ultra High), Ambient(High), Hdr(Yes), Bloom(Yes), Fire(Very High), Physics(Very High), RealTrees(Very High)

So basically everything maxxed out

With the 8.10 drivers the results were

* Average Framerate: 40.12
* Max. Framerate: 69.12
* Min. Framerate: 9.70

With the hotfix driver the results were

* Average Framerate: 46.26
* Max. Framerate: 94.12
* Min. Framerate: 10.89

So a nice 6fps increase, so about a 15% increase.
