Well...

I finally decided to re-format AGAIN to try and get my 4870x2 working and finally! Seams to be working ok so far

23k in 3dmark06

3dmark 06 is a bit out dated now.
i gained 600 points from a 2nd 4870x2 =/
shame you cant get vantage on xp XD

and yup the hotfix 2 drivers are much better. im getting my old scores at stock now. will try a proper run tomorrow

Just overclocked the Stock 280 upto 650 core 1399 Shader for a quick test of performance over 602 core and got 2+ frames

If i push my shader above 1427 in ati tool it artifacts , but i can still run stable enough up to 1500 for a few minutes before i get em, hense the benchmark runs. Could it be that I'm just unlucky with my card and its not a decent overclocker ? Its a evga standard 280 (not pre-clocked).

Odd how SLI scaling looked very good from first reviews but not so good from here?

Any chance someone with an SLI system could run the benchmark with a single card too? Preferably with a stupidly clocked quad and general fast system to remove other bottlenecks? Preferably w3bbo?

I thought that too. Strange how Andy has his Q6600 at the same speed as my QX9770 and my TWO GTX280's, clocked higher than Andys SINGLE 280 only just win out. CPU limited? Surely not!

I wonder if SLI is broke with the latest drivers

Agreed SLi optimizations must be poor in either the driver, the game engine or both. And I think we all can agree that CPU limitation is not an issue here. My RAM is running at 1T @ 1333MHZ but doubt that should account for not seeing what SHOULD be a MASSIVE difference considering you, theoretically, have TWICE the GPU horse power.

Oh well, I'll enjoy the fame and glory while it lasts. No doubt you'll be kicking my arse completely once Nvidia/ Ubi fiddle with some coding

Any ideas as to why the DX10 scores are always higher than DX9? My DX9 score is in the 50's. I'd have thought with DX10 being so much 'bigger' in the 'prettyness' department, it would be more demanding and therefore LOWER in score. Or is it really that much better coded?

You're running much faster ram too IIRC, 2000mhz DDR3? I doubt it's a general 'core' system problem

You couldn't both run the same bench at 1920 x 1200 8XAA could you? Little easier than taking a card out

DELL 20.1" Mate = 1680 X 1050 Max

Doubt its a "core system"? problem on webbo's rig - he knows his stuff and torture tests his overclocks to within an inch of their lives. If there was the slightest instability he would have found it.

I get married in 3 weeks - if you want to explain to my missus where £300 odd has gone and why my Dell monitor has 'grown' into a 24" then you are a braver man than me I am rather attatched to my testicles and wish to remain that way.
