Well...

I finally decided to re-format AGAIN to try and get my 4870x2 working and finally! Seams to be working ok so far :D

running @ 4122mhz / 800/975 / xp 64 sp2

no more stuttering either! and no more vista related problems too!

im keeping my 280 results on just for comparison :)

You bugger, well done Jonny, I dont think I can top that.
My card dont seem to overclock with AMDgpuoverclock tool, keeps coming up failed, so stuck at 800/1000 (CCC)
 


heres mine again with both cards workig :) was the driver version in end, when it said hotfix available i just went to amd site and dloaded the hotfix but the link was for to old 8.9 drivers doh.

Just overclocked the Stock 280 upto 650 core 1399 Shader for a quick test of performance over 602 core and got 2+ frames



May drag it up to 700 if i can be bothered

lol im not accusing you of cheating but anyway:

At what bus speed? 471
What drivers are you using? latest official 178 somthing
What motherboard? asus p5q delux
What memory speed? 1066mhz @ 942 (next step up is like 1150 which is too high)
Have you disabled any background services for crap like adobe, punkbuster, nero etc? clean format, no additional services running
Defragged before running? clean format
etc, etc, etc...

Only reason why i was asking is because I got basically the exact same score in dx9 and then you get 6fps more in dx10. Not that it matters now anyway since I have my 4870x2 running now :)
 
Running on watercooled Striker II Extreme (790i Ultra) mobo - might have something to do with it.

PCI-e bus overclocked too :D

Also, my memory is running at 1333MHz DDR3 which is quite a bit faster than yours. I can only think that with DX10 being more demanding, mine fairs a wee bit better. Honestly can't think of anything else mate.

How's the X2 then? :D
