Far Cry 2, Completely boring?

Actually you have just reminded me that I still have this installed, think I stopped playing it in order to play world of goo, or maybe peggle, both games are more interesting tbh :D

I was always quick to defend the game when people moaned about it but 27 hours in and I've changed my opinion
 
The thing with this game is that it's not only boring but it makes me feel quite sick when playing it. I don't know if it's the malaria bit or the way the character moves.

I don't get this in other games COD/Crysis ect all perfectly and can play them for hours but I can only manage about 15-20mins in Farcry2.

i have all the latest games..but i will not play any other untill i have completed farcry 2...the game has its problems but it is still worth playing through i think

It was the combat that i found appalling. The guns had a decent visceral sound and felt meaty enough but the damage they did was laughable. It seems like i have to empty an entire clip into a guys (bare) chest before he drops over. That's just not fun imo. Crysis at least had the body armour excuse but this was ridiculous. I'm waiting for mods before I play it again.

I would agree with you if I did not use the sniper rifle 90% of the time. I love the game because it is ideal for sniping.
 
I'm bored of this too. I'm about 65% of the way thru and can't be bothered to complete it... I have just gained a son though which has kind of taken priority.

I never finished the first one either. I got fed up when there were giant monsters with rockets on their arms or summat stupid like that.

Snap, made it to 50something% and got bored of the repetition... had hoped things would change when you moved to the second map area but they didn't :(

I've had Fallout3 sitting here, shrink-wrapped, since I got FC2 as I meant to finish FC2 before hitting FO3 but think I'm just gonna have to move on to Fallout :)
 
In over 10 years I pretty much completed every game I've brought including the terrible just cause. Far Cry 2 is the same and the worse thing was the damn thing wouldn't uninstall.
When ever I tried to uninstall it went through the process but all the files were still there and the entry was still in add/remove programs. Had to manually delete the thing to make space for fallout 3.

I'll probably go back to it at some point and continue using my saves but right now there are far to many great games to be playing through.
 
Repetitive as all hell, but I managed to get just under 20 hours out of it before I gave up. Quite fun in places and looked nice......but what were they thinking with the gameplay :confused:
