Far Cry 2 Introduction Trailer

Well you could basically walk anywhere in Farcry (apart from go far out to see as you got shot by Copters).

Same in Crysis on land but got killed by your Suit (Your Boss activates it for Deserting) or the Big Ships if you went out to sea.

I tried my hardest to like/play Stalker after many many years of waiting but I just could not get into it.

It put me in mind of Oblivion but a FPS. (seen others say the same).

I did play it at launch and unpatched and could not hit anyone with the only gun I had at start (also read the hit count was off).
 
That's kind of what I meant. I couldn't get into S.T.A.L.K.E.R. at all and wish I'd never bought it.

Whenever I hear now about how an fps game has a massive open world to explore i worry it'll be like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.!

Big Gay AL's phew... AIAS GOTY is like Oscars. Spike TV VGA is like MTV Movie awards. One gives awards to the best in industry, the other gives awards to Paris Hilton of the gaming world. ;)

Not that it matters - Bioshock, as console port, isn't such a good game on PC anyways. We need better example.

But everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Far Cry was poor, Crysis was poor. I'd like to think Far Cry 2 will offer something new, hopefully it will.
 
I don't like the fact that, despite claiming to have essentially captured the look and feel of Africa, and then allowing you huge freedom to roam around this vast wilderness.... they don't put any predators in it :rolleyes:

I want to be stalked by a lion dammit!

The video looks like it was from a console, from the way they were steering to aim.

I think its the video itself that is making the framerate look poor. Watch the parts where the developers are talking and the framerate still looks low. Maybe because it is wmv file?

Well we know the Far Cry team can code a game properly, so I don't think there will be a repeat.

Although i'm not sure that counts as a competitor as it's a game show rather than an actual product - there was a big thread about the whole thing and it was left largely unmoderated.

If it isn't allowed then remove the post and accept my apologies. :)
 
The sniper bit in that video looked absolutely terrible. Sorry to start on a bad note but that really jumped out at me. The explosions with debris look nice but a bit pre-set.. I dunno, doesn't look all that brilliant. Will gladly re-evaluate my opinion with more gameplay footage + demo though :)
 
Console ports always seem to run well on the pc to me, straight out of the box.

The only one that didn't was the orignal Halo when that first came out.

No this games runs on its own in house engine and has nothing to do with the cryengine2 running crysis.

Also what do you mean when you say ' looks like a 360 game'?! You do realise it will be released on multi format?!
