Far Cry 3 Thread

has anybody played this coop? I am thinking about picking it up specifically for coop gameplay so getting a few copies will be quite an investment :)

 There was a patrol with two prisoners walking along. I attacked them, but didn't have a silenced weapon. They killed one before I could do anything, and the other ran away and hid behind a rock. I took care of the patrol, and the backup(which came very promptly:rolleyes:).....then went to get my reward, only to find him being eaten by a bear!

Awesome:D

Yay, Christmas smileys!

Came across two of Vaas' guys about to execute two hostages on a beach, hid in a bush and just photographed them before going on my way :( WHY DIDN'T I DO SOMETHING

Loving it so far, it has it's quirks sure... But it's awesome. Can see it getting reppative though

guys please help, GMG client has dl'd all the data to the wrong drive, now cant install the game or find it to copy the data across!

Can someone give me a hand to find the game download?

Launch the download manager again and go through the motions of downloading it again. It should tell you where the last download went

Very true, and they try to sell the instant download as covenient. Not seen one person posting about running down to Game, bought a copy and ran hope and installed it like in the good old days :).

Steam seems to be pretty painless. I prefer the DVD's but can't beat the Steam sales. Any full price games I'd rather buy the disk personally.
Uplay seem to now be charging £5 more than you can get the disk for - £34.99 vs £29.99 for one version unless you can get some kind of special offer.

Saying that, I went down to game but walked away when they tried to charge me £40. I'm not bothered about paying for games.. I object to being ripped off..

Bought it on GMG for £32. That'll do.

fixed it now, playing and looks great, more scripted that FC2 but I'm still only in the first 30 mins of play so to be expected.

GFX are 7/10 imo, but I can tweak those so that may/will rise.

Story is 5/10 atm but this is too early to tell, 10 for the inclusion of main character and intro, very good so far however seemingly very fast and not enough info about other characters/ too fast to introduce people.

Gunplay 6/10 but will improve, seems ok so far but am very early in the game so will get better.

Overall after half hour of quick play, I'd say 6.5/10? Please don't see this as mediocre, as I'm pretty certain once i've settled into it will be great and these are my personal opinions and the game is a really good follow up to the series in general.

Thoughts??

The game really doesn't shine until you get past the introductory levels, then you find yourself hunting sharks and tigers to upgrade your gear, combining plants into drugs and then the standard free roam setup of; main questline } sidequests {. The level up system is really good too, pretty solid RPG mechanics being employed, which was the last thing I ever expected.

GFX 8/10 { mainly due to being so well optimized.

GAMEPLAY 8/10 { no recoil and unrealistic upgrade penalties drop the score a little, as well as very unrealistic wildlife behavior.

STORY 7/10 { very, very well delivered from the players perspective, but makes no sense how the main character can go from a scared little tourist to a killing machine more efficient than the super soldiers in Instincts.

OVERALL 78/100, although not really got that far yet.

Got my order confirmation now when I ordered on the 26th. No CD key yet..

I ordered this game 4 days ago and only now I've had confirmation of order so I'm not confident I'll be able to play this weekend legitimately.

Exactly the same for me. Getting the confirmation of order required a ticket and phone call.

This guy needs to stop feeling sick after he skins his 60th animal.. Or killed a bunch of pirates like a ninja

Didn't realise it would have some RPG elements like item collection, looting etc. Ugh :/

It's not bad and well interspersed with shooting and stabbing etc. The looting/crafting appeals to my gotta collect them all mentality but without the need to sit down and play some shoddy grindfest. Haven't played an RPG since FFVIII because of the time needed to invest in a game, really cba these days

No key still?

Who did you ring? I've not got anywhere with my ticket. It hasn't even been initially answered yet.

Nope, no key :(

I contacted Ubisoft Games: 0871-664-1000 . They put my ticket to the top of the pile and it was answered very quickly. They said my order just didn't go through on the original purchase. Still no key though although the email says there's a download link but it doesn't exist for me.
