Far Cry 3 Thread

Cheers for the heads up.


I have to say so far I'm quite impressed by Uplay, it's flawed but runs much smoother than Steam/Origin and has the Uplay rewards which is nice, achievement points you can actually use to unlock DLC/Wallpapers etc.

Should really merge Origin/Steam/Uplay, then it'd be awesome. :D

Ta, just after the intro, it bugged out on me and wouldn't do anything in game, would bring menu up with stuff but back to game and it was a half rendered screen with nothing going on. Will try offline mode.
 
Played this last night but only for half an hour, just got to the first tower and down. Looks amazing but didn't get to see much actual gameplay in that time.

I was waiting til midnight for it to appear in uplay but it turns out all I had to do was try running the game from outside uplay which made it appear and it was actually unlocked already. Unfortunately I'd waited til quarter to midnight before trying this so didn't actually reap much reward. Go GMG :)
 
Only managed to get a chance to do the intro and tweak graphics last night!

Any FPS tweaks/tips? Had to drop it to DX9 and turn Post FX to medium or low, rest on High, to get it good on my ageing PC in sig.
 
I got my copy from http://www.simplygames.com/info/19434/Far-Cry-3-PC pre order £19.85 with free delivery. Arrived last night x2 disc install & a quick patch from ubi. The game looks and feels amazing

Skyrim on drugs... with guns :)

My only problem is the Nvidia drivers beta's 310.64 show a 38% increase in FC3 but they will crash BF3 m/player!! and I play BF3 every night with my clan mates ... "sorry i mean RAGE at BF3 every night" :eek:
 
Woo, my key came bang on 6 and I'm downloading the patch now.

Need to say thanks to Ricky for posting the link for the installer yesterday so I could get all that installation crap out the way.

I ordered mine on the 26th Nov using the code. It all appeared to go through but I've had no email at all, not even an order confirmation. The code won't work now so I assume the order went through but I raised a ticket with them the same day and have heard nothing back. Anyone any ideas of what to do next ?
 
Poor experience for me so far.

Far Cry servers are down this morning so the game is basically unplayable. I gave up last night after several crashes/lock-ups. Frame rates with my HD7950 are all over the place ie 30 one minute to 100fps the next.

Looks promising if they can get it patched. Be interested to hear if any other HD79** users are having problems. I'm running the 12.11(6) beta drivers.
 
Bah, got all excited when i saw the key in my email and thought Co-op here i come... only to see "The Far Cry 3 service is unavailable", yet a mate can connect to it fine :(
 
I managed to get about 40fps with my 560ti 2gb (1680x1050)
all on ultra but only dx9.
phenom 965 @ 3.8ghz
4gig ram
but i think the graphics are not that great IMO(trees look abit wrong)
it looked great at night time(opening sceen)but when its daylight it looks to bright for my liking,but the gameplay is great:D
