Far Cry 3 Thread

Played an hour so far and I'm not really enjoying it.

I started trying to do the main missions but got annoyed with the crap guns, lack of ammo, and forced stealth if you don't want the pirates to call tons of backup.

So I read on it a bit and decided to go skinning and crafting but whilst I'm doing that, I still get cars full of people driving upto me whilst I'm hunting and setting ****ing dogs on me that I can't see until they've bitten me.

I'm really not feeling a good vibe about this game at all, it seems more like Faff Cry 3.

:D, I thought the same, keep at it and do the radio towers asap. Best game in the last couple of years for me :)
 
Finished it quite recently after buying it in the Steam Christmas sale, it was a pretty good game but there were a few issues with crashing when buying/selling items as stores. The combat was good and often got pretty intense if you chose to let more and more pirates/privateers join the fray!

The story was alright, though it got a bit weird around half way through and I didn't much like the ending that I chose. But overall, the game was great and was a lot of fun while it lasted.
 
Fab game keep plugging away at it and the rewards are massive.

Its free to roam form allows for more than you think. I quite enjoyed a pileup at the crossroads.

Find a crossroads with a bit of hill you can snipe from and couple of buildings. Then kill the next enemy car that comes along. Lay a few mines. Wait for the next one, boom, snipe the next one, boom, hide behind a building, wait till they get out chuck a grenade, boom, so many ways to despatch them keep killing them until 12 cars later the crossroads looks like a junkyard. Crazy OTT fun.
 
The recent hate in this thread for the game - wtf!

Its an incredible game, sorry if your pc is so shafted you cant run it, sorry if you dont have one once of patience - but there your failings and not the games.
 
good news:-

i think the 4th game is out soon :eek: the rumours are that they are already quite a long way on with it, the huge success of this 3rd game meant that they started making the 4th straight away

Vaas didn't die, he was stabbed only.....maybe !

the whole idea is not to shoot the alarms, this makes it much more fun, because if you shoot the Alarms it's too easy

Wouldn't surprise me. I liked FC1 but thought it got silly once the mutants came into the game. It was a perfect shoot 'em up/mystery game 'til then. FC2 seemed to go off on a tangent and I never got into it. FC3 is one of my all-time favourite games. With FC3 being so popular I can see that FC4, as long as it stays true to FC3 and doesn't go an FC2 will be very good and perhaps even brilliant. :)
 
Just started playing this yesterday on PS3 since it's free on PS+. Such a fun game! I was going to get it on PC, but like I said it was free, but it still looks OK on PS3. As long as I don't see it on PC I won't know any difference :D.

I like all the modes of transport and the hunting. The radio towers were also a great idea.

well the teaser photo shows Vaas in a prison cell/ looney bin, not sure which, so it looks like it'll be very similar.

if this game is due for release this year or next, then it wont be too much of a problem will it, because all these tropical islands look the same dont they !!!!!!

the 3rd game was a huge success, so they started making the 4th game straight away, they dumped everything else to get on with it.

we were due to get Rainbow 6 Patriots soon, but they're redoing it all from scratch ( not good enough) a bit like DOOM 4

might have to re-install this and go for ~ my 6th game
theres a few collectables that are bugged that means i cant get 100% though :/
 
Far Cry 4, Bring it on, Tropical islands ok with me but better physics even up to the original Crysis would be good :)
