It's not official, but Ubisoft's big announcement, as unintentionally revealed by the IGN Turkey Twitter account, is a new Far Cry game called Far Cry Primal. The post itself is gone, but the tweet remains, along with an image that bears, to my mind at least, a more-than-passing resemblance to the bizarre Zeno Clash.
We're still waiting for the word from Ubisoft, but there you have it: A new and potentially very interesting take on Far Cry is on the way.

Well that's surprising for Ubisoft, props to them for doing something different. I'm interested for sure.

Sorry what????????????

Seriously, at this moment, that's all we've got: A cave painting of a man—or man-like creature—holding a bow and large torch, or perhaps a spear, while in the background, another bowman and a spearman appear to be leaning toward off-screen prey. There's also a silhouette of a hand, sparks flying from a fire, and ominous, primitive music.

Looks interesting, don't think another along similar lines to FC3 and FC4 would have been all too exciting. It's just ground too well-trodden by now.

You do realise this is just a re-skinned Far Cry, right?

Looking forward to more mediocre footage of generic tribesman climbing a generic tower to unlock more of the map, then loads of pointless side quests. This along with the 'new' EA Battlefront game is dead even before it's released.

You do realize that you haven't actually seen enough to jump to this conclusion, right?

Either way, simply not having guns and a very unique settings sets it apart.

As for it being dead before even being released, realize that not everybody thinks like you do. Thank god.

What is it like to always be so cynical? Must be miserable.

Except that Far Cry 4 was only released a year ago. Plenty of time to make a brand new game  honestly. *sarcasm*

Also the good old Ubisoft Pre-Order LOL. Pre order after seeing no gameplay whatsoever.

15 months isn't a long time.

It's Ubi. It'll be another rehash of FC3, that development time all but confirms its just another tooth on the franchise cog.

At least it'll be relatively bug free by now... Right? :D

Ubisoft have lots of different studios. They dont all collectively work on one title at a time, nor is the Far Cry franchise handled by one single studio.

Either way, this game has already shown enough to differentiate it from the others. Dont know how that's even arguable.

And yes, pre-orders, such a Ubisoft concept. Never heard of any other game doing anything like that.

Ok.. I watched the trailer and still have no idea why Far Cry has been tagged on to the name of the game... I must be missing something.

Oh hang on it's Ubisoft that's why..

Yeah, far cry with no guns, thats all we know.

Do you honestly enjoy this kind of rinse and repeat gaming?

as for saying 'it looks good', well whats the point at this stage, Ubisoft have a habit of ruining games.
