FAST AND FURIOUS 9, 9 Down One To Go )

I enjoyed it for what it is. I like how they flashed back to pre 1st movie events to tie things in instead of just throwing a new character in for no reason.

Also they added some nice touches like the end scene with who we assume is pulling up in the car. Plus the old street racing scene there's a young Jesse and Vince shown briefly.

I was just leaving school when the first movie came along so grown up with them. Some of the actors have aged somewhat so I can see why we're gonna see two more then it's done. The dude from Tokyo Drift has lost some timber!

so we have gone from tacky street racing, to action, to 80s action, to parody action. This one almost felt saints row in its level of weird/crazy. It was bad, but still kinda fun, i guess. Probably need to hit the reset button if they are going to make more of these.

I mean the film had some great scenes, wish I had it on in my house rather than at the Cineworld, their speakers seemed muffled and lacking bass, the picture was also a bit blurry.

The throwback to the actual street racing a reminder of the roots of the film, now it's just silly, it's like cars meet Star Wars or something.

The real bizarre bits for me is:

Selective electro magnets capable of carefully pulling a car through a building without attracting everything else in its path and killing plenty of people.
Strapping wings to a car, a jet engine, launching it into space whilst also wearing very flimsy space suits, no way could that survive re-entry, then they decided to crash it through a satellite as well.

Also..

Cars being transported to various places at will (Doms car is in Edinburgh in one scene then its in the final place where they are trying to sort the behemoth truck thingy)
The guys from Tokyo Drift managing to get hold of a military cargo plane and fly it into some random countries airspace with a rocket powered car on the top then launching towards a satellite they have just launched.

To name a couple of bits.

I saw that but i didn't realise it was just a mid engined hellcat motor. Thought it was some sort of twin engine Frankenstein build particularly after they were talking about his previous car having thousands of horsepower (F6/7?)

What on earth did I watch. The movie was ludicrous. Michael Bay? It will be Rhian Johnson who secretly involved? Absolutely crazy far fetch even for them.

Edit - Justin Lin must have been high when he did this.

I couldn't stop laughing at many points but when VD fell into the water and was actually sinking faster than chunks of concrete with rebar inside that nearly finished me. :D

I said to my wife "I'm fairly sure he sustained a traumatic brain injury in the first or second film and everything since had been a coma fantasy."
