Fast Car + Good MPG = Myth?

Mines got 55k on it... Full service history and from what ive seen it will be good for another 50k without any issues. On the Roller it was still kicking out the full 202bhp just as it would have been the day it was new.

They're 197:p

Totally Stock but, fair enough... and as for the 105k comment, you know what i mean.

It'll be pretty much bang on 197 matey, the engine power is estimated using a standard formula. wheel power +17% or whatever.

Yeah they go for a while, think mines on about 100k. Maybe more actually...

Yup, he said it was normal... which i kinda didnt beleive, but, he suggested that all the prems were mapped like that to make the Vtec kick more apparant.

It will be getting remapped when I get my June bonus, thats already been earmarked for Kpro, GruppeM and Spoon N1.

Not seen anyone mention the VAG 1.8T...?
I thought they were good for 35MPG~

That's my vag 1.8t I posted doing 5.4mpg :D

But that's live mpg at full chat in 3rd with an aggresive map, sticking to NSL's with smooth driving I can get 40-45mpg average easily

Check your internets device, it isn't displaying posts #20 and #24 :D

Driven steadily 35 MPG+ is realistic, if you could really be bothered you can get 40+ on a decent run. Driven with a 70% boring 30% fun mix my one averages around 32 MPG over a tank. Recently though with a few longer trips thrown in I haven't seen less than 35 MPG for the last 4 tanks

To be fair though, B16's to tend to get pretty smokey on high cam once past that kind of mileage, so yeah an engine rebuild (refresh sounds better?) isn't a bad idea.

My old VTi (B18) has 147k on it now, and doesn't smoke at all, though uses a little bit of oil if you thrash it.

Just to drop back into here. I was doing 2.5k rpm going uphill in 6th gear at 50mph on the way to work and I was just feathering the throttle. I put my foot down and it went to 60 quite happily. No need to thrash it whatsoever.

The DC2 is the harsh Type-R for motorway, the EP3 is a bit more pleasant. They are about 150bhp outside of VTEC and 200bhp in VTEC from what I've heard. Some people are on 70k plus and still on the original clutch, few owners now over 100k without major issues. Just keep the oil at the max level and thye will go on an on. They can eat tyres if you're on an errand for the devil mind you ;)
