Fat shaming on a plane - who is in the wrong?

100% this. Was on a 4hr flight recently where we'd paid for extra leg room. I had window seat, with my wife in the middle seat of a row of three. The other seat was occupied by someone who couldn't actually fit in the seat without encroaching in to the aisle and my wife's seat. Made it incredibly uncomfortable for us for the whole flight. If you can't physically fit within the boundaries of the seat, and I don't care about the reason (could be a 6ft5 body builder with 35" thighs or just someone who pretty much lives in Greggs), you should have to buy the seat next to you.

Thats the funny thing. If you are huge because of muscles, they WILL tell you your too big. But if your Jabba the Hutt, they won't because they don't want to seem un-PC :/

She's either proud to be fat or she isn't. Making all this fuss shows she's insecure. Why bring up the gym and the fact she's a model? She's clearly insecure and unhappy about being overweight.

She is over the average size even for an American.

I think she did it for a bit of publicity. Its hard not be insecure about being overweight if you get mobbed at every angle. She probably should have let it go but shes also dumb as well as fat. Having a big internet following artificially inflates her ego too. Same for both sides of the argument. No one here would confront a fly face to face.

Shes an idiot.

Sure the guy wasnt texting great stuff, but it wasn't intended to impact her, he had no intention of letting her know that he thought she was a fat piece of ****.

Also sitting next to fat people isn't my number one pet hate on a plane. Its the person that reclines their chair in front of me.

Every angle?

Nah only angles above 90 degrees. ;)

If you weigh more, pay more. Same with luggage.

It was a private message and I bet she's sent some nasties she would not want public either

Crushes your knees, nearly... Or some snotty kid kicking the back of your seat.

Her in the wrong for reading his messages (how would she have known they were about her if she hadn't read them in the first place...) but the guy did apologise straight away so she should have just left it at that point. A lot of people would have just started making fun of her to her face...

Frightening, the fact there are selfies everywhere. https://www.instagram.com/nataliemeansnice/

How many selfies does one have to take of themself?

This whole accepting fatness idea is just pushing us towards a worse obesity epidemic than we already have currently.

It isn't ok to be fat. Kids need to know this.

does taking a **** load of selfies count as modeling these days or has she received some kind of payment for what ever it is she does?
