Fat shaming on a plane - who is in the wrong?

So obese is 'plus size' now?

The bloke is a bit of a **** and she is attention seeking and in the wrong for taking a picture of his texts. Also no she wasn't fat shamed.

edit: don't google her name

How would you then deal with incredible large people with huge muscles? They may weigh more than a clinically obese person.

Waist size is the measurement to use as its going to have a bearing on if they spill over the seat more than weight

"Miss Hage, who said she had massive anxiety about flying, explained she forked out $70 (£54) for additional space because she needs “a little extra leg room""

Yeah it's the legroom that was the problem!

Thighs are parts of the legs. Hips too I guess!

This story has brought a smile to my face. I think it's imagining the guy, lounging contentedly in his extra-legroom seat, suddenly being hit with the disappointment of having to share an armrest with a really fat person. Makes me think of David Brent's reaction when his internet date turned out to be rather large on The Office.

"I work out 5 times a week".

Really? You want to consider your routine if you're doing all that exercise and still lolfat

Plus size model?? What the **** does she model? Tarpaulins?? 5 man tents?? She's not plus size, she's just a morbidly fat midden.

She also sounds very opinionated. Bordering on a bit of hostility with and suggestion of criticism.

I do believe the thought police are already here though. I was just thinking the other day when they were talking about stalking on the news. Yet she is stalking him with what he is doing on his phone? Didn't they used to call that a long time ago, a busy body? Isn't it also rude to peer into someones paper, magazine, phone, tablet and so on...

He shouldn't make fun of her like that. She has enough on her plate to deal with.

Great day for the media though. Look at it. "Its gone viral!" *click* *click* *click*

What the hell has her weight got to do with anyone else. Treat it like any other insult. I'd be more ashamed the fact I felt the need to text someone to poke fun at others expense. This generation sicken me, no tolerance, no respect quick to judge on zero facts.

Christ , I've just had that ' I've turned into my dad ' moment

Not defending her but exercising isn't an effective way to lose weight. She's probably in the same camp to 'treat' herself after 20 minutes on the elliptical/treadmill consuming 2x as many calories as she burned.

Brave of her to stand up for herself, but it's off the back of private information she had no right to too and before she confronted him where he almost instantly apologized she vilified him on Twitter to 160,000 people.

Seems to be the future of todays society. Now it is all over TV.
