Fat...?

There we are then mods, could we have a pole please?

I would rather do:

Small
Medium
Large

As long as everyone realises it is in reference to the above picture, and not their own ideas of what Small, Medium or Large is.

We might as well have a poll on the ten finalists, she's top, second from left:

They're trying to appeal to bigger women, but IMO they're doing at all wrong, size 16 does not equal big or "fat"

If the advertisers want to appeal to real women then they need to stop airbrushing, you want real women, look at that ginger bird from Corrie, Fizz I think her name is, or that lass who plays Ugly Betty, yes I know they have tons of make up put on them but my lass is a size 16 and she doesn't look like that lass in the photos at all. (She doesn't look like Fizz or Ugly Betty either but thats not my point, they both have stomachs on them)

They won't ever use "real" women that you seen walking round the high street because, just like the cosmetics industry, they're trying to sell hope.

Basically that advert is saying:

"Look this lass is a size 16, if you're a size 16 too, then buy this stuff and you could look as good as she does"

When in reality it's saying

"This lass has had a ton of make up and airbrushing, if you buy this stuff you won't look like her, but your other half might actually pay some attention to you if you buy it"

Ok so she might not have the ideal "model" body but wow is she pretty!!!!! Prettiest one out of the finalists!!

Indeed! I think they should ban airbrushing in adverts, I wouldn't want my gf, or any woman to look airbrushed in real life, it would look weird.

She's fat and has a very heavy set face with a fain hint of a jowel that would probably be more pronounced without the photoshopping.

That photo is a composite right?? Not sarcastic just brainfail.

Its awful. Compared to the others she is fatter. id pick bottom 3 or 4. Undecided.

Is there actually a set weight which if you are over you are deemed 'overweight'? I appreciate BMI numbers are commonly used, and they are largely irresponisble to rely on.

On a person to person basic it's largely useless, I think a combination of both body fat (>19-20% for men, >28% for women) combined with a BMI over 25 would be more accurate although still not perfect.

I'd say she is probably both.

She reminds me of a fatter Michelle Bass.

I think the point of 'curves' is that there actually are some curves present rather than a figure that is less interesting on the eye (this relates to being both underweight and overweight).

There's levels of being large. The girl in the OP is just fat, where-as the girl on the right here:

I could quite happily bone.

Girl on the right is just perfect, the thing on the left needs to institutionalized and force fed a high calorific diet through tubes, and the girl in the middle needs to get some psycho therapy and a dietary specialist before she joins the freak on the left.

As for the women in the OP. I wouldn't say she is fat, not thin, slightly larger than averagely curvy. But her face is hardly super model territory, still plenty pretty enough but I would have thought AS could have found a lady of similar size with a prettier face.

On the one hand I dont agree with the usual ann summers model, as its a shape that is near impossible to attain naturally.

They are very thin, with low body fat, yet thanks to a boob job, they still manage to have massive boobs. There isnt really any way to do that naturally, and the way they advertise using these types of models does make women thnk that this is what they need to aim for.

On the other hand, this girl is overweight, if not obese, and thats not a healthy image to be showing people is acceptable, never mind attractive! Its certainly way more than "curvy"

I used to be size 6, now im a 10/12 which is probably "Fat" compared to how i was before, but id rather look like this than bones. Its closer to the definition of what id call curvy than obesity is anyway, and if I were to get to that size, id be wanting to do something about it rather than celebrating it.

Well i am glad a woman has agreed with my OP!
