I jumped on the £359.99 offer for the Palit GTX 1070, only to discover that it artifacts under load! This began after my initial benchmark test. Everything is running at stock. I'm not a happy bunny, as you can imagine!

Just bad luck buddy, if you've not touch anything then it should be a straight forward RMA. Worth checking temperatures just in case

I'm hoping that OcUK can arrange a direct swap, rather than me having to post the item at my own expense and wait for a replacement.
It's discouraging to say the least! I'm beginning to wonder why they were so cheap!

Looks like a bad card. It happens unfortunately so id RMA it. Out of curiosity though have you tried a different driver and also used DDU?
I don't think it's a display driver issue, since it was seemingly fine to begin with. It completed the initial Fire Strike test and ended with a reasonable score, and I was testing GTA V's performance etc.

I will contact OcUK today.

When I sent OCuk a message about Palit warranty procedures they said it would take a few weeks (as the card has to go to Hong Kong). I hope it will different for you, but that's what put me off a Palit 1060.

I'm hoping they will make an exception, seeing as this happened on day one! Hopefully they'll arrange to have it exchanged, or issue an immediate refund if I'm looking at a lengthy turnaround!

Yeah definitely.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/returns-details

"30 Days / Acceptance Period
You are entitled to reject goods if they are faulty (do not match the description, are not of satisfactory quality, or are not fit for purpose). You have up to 30 days to check the goods and contact us if there is a fault. You can decide to claim a full refund or request a repair/replacement."

Seems like you can just get a refund, no idea what they will do if you want a replacement as those cards aren't on sale anymore. I would imagine a repair would require them to send it away, giving you a few weeks waiting time.

I wouldn't entertain the notion of a repair. Personally, I'd expect to receive the next model up if they can't replace it like for like.

yeah, sounds like there should be no issue getting a refund or replacement and definitely no need to send it back to Mars ( or HK whatever it was ! ).

I've still yet to receive a response. Aren't they normally quite prompt? I might have to give them a call during my lunch break otherwise.

A 1080 for £359 would be such a bargain, would almost be around what Americans pay haha

I meant the next model up from the Palit Dual, such as the JetStream etc. An upgrade to a GTX 1080 would be wishful thinking. :P

Sent a webnote last night asking for a full refund or if its possible pay the difference and get an MSI. Still waiting for a reply.

Probably should have just got MSI in the first place but £360 looked a good deal.

Perhaps we're not the only ones affected by this? I hope they get back to us sooner rather than later! I'd even consider paying the difference for a more reliable model.

I bought this card for the wife as an upgrade from her 660. bit annoyed its back in the box ready to go back!
I have a MSI gaming X in my rig and had no problems at all. Get what you pay for i guess.

I'm surprised they haven't acknowledged either of us yet, especially when you consider this thread is pretty active. Are there no representatives on the forum today?

At this moment, it appears that a couple of faulty cards have been recieved.

This doesn't prove that those particular cards are unreliable, although it does prove that Palit's QC and testing might be lacking.

With any product, there are likely to be some failures, even when brand new. Unless there are more reports of Palit graphics cards failing on arrival, or even after a period of use, there is no need to consider them an unreliable brand. Before buying my Palit card, I did some research and from what I read, they do make decent quality graphics cards.

I've had a Palit GTX 275 and GTX 970 in the past, both of which were fine.

Still, the situation does not inspire much confidence.

How long have you been waiting for a response ?

This thread was made last night, and I contacted them earlier this morning. I'd say that's ample time for some sort of acknowledgement.
Aren't the staff members active on the forum, normally?

I would just ring them up, quicker response.

It'd have to be during my lunch period, as I'm at work, and customers frequently parade through the front door. :P

If they just let you pick another one, near to same price, which one would you get?

I've not given it much thought. Possibly a Zotac Founders Edition, seeing as it has a five year warranty. I'm not averse to a blower cooler.

Edit: I've received a response, but the process appears to involve dropping the parcel off at a collection point? Also, they haven't given me any implication as to how long the process will take, and when I can expect to receive a replacement?

Depends what label they give you. They will probably receieve it around mon/tues. So then if they next day you the replacement wednesday maybe. Are they making you pay the postage for the return?

No, there is no charge. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work and the nearest collection point isn't exactly around the corner.
They haven't presented me with an option as far as replacing it is concerned. Presumably they will contact me after receiving the faulty card?

Yeah, they're gonna test if before they start offering you remedies. Gonna be in a bit of a pickle if it's broken for you, but they can't replicate the issue.

It occurred when using a benchmark or playing a game. Seeing as I'm not the only person to have been affected, I think it's a safe bet.

Urgh there is a massive thread on another forum of people getting the same problem with Palit 1070s across the whole model range where it works fine for the first 1-2 days then dead or massive artefacts. Dunno how I missed it before though it is a pretty new thread.

Link please? I'm definitely not getting another Palit if that's the case.
