Faulty TV from Argos help.

Well, it was silly not to keep the TV box, any electrical store will insist it be returned boxed, so you shot yourself in the foot there to start with. Secondly, they have offered you a repair (despite the dead pixels being under LG's stated tolerance limits) which will presumably replace the panel on your new TV, this is a very common fix for people outside of the 28 day no quibble return limit.

When you grow up a little and look back on this, you will realise how much you were cutting your nose off to spite your face.

I would have accepted the repair if I was not called a liar in store.

So basically you are causing yourself a huge inconvenience and refusing a much-needed repair on a TV... all because of an arsey low-grade manager who was probably having a bad day.

Yeah mang, principel innit.

No need to get cocky...

All I want is a replacement or to be refunded.

You're not going to get the result you want with that attitude.

You need to remind them of their legal obligations that if a product develops a fault within 6 months, it's up them to prove that you caused it. A retail manager who likely knows nothing about TVs saying you did it because of a few fingerprints on the screen does not prove this.

I thought im entitled to either a replacement, repair or refund if its under 6months old.

I just want it replaced. Nothing else to it.

They have the option of offering either a repair or a replacement. They've chosen to offer to repair it. If they really thought you'd caused the damage yourself (and could prove it) they wouldn't even be doing that.

You are entitled to one of those three, however it is the STORES decision what to offer you, not yours. Legally all they have to do is offer to repair it - the ball is firmly in your court now.
