Do NOT Water down spirits!

Im Not a connoisseur of spirits mate. I cannot stand any of them on their own ( probably becuase i have never tasted a quality one ), however i do like a half decent brandy with a drop of coke when i cannot be bothered with the beer.

In my old local a temporary lanlord got out an expensive bottle of whisky while we were playing cards one night, while it tasted ok to me, i certainly could not sit there and enjoy drinking 3 or 4 of them.

Fairplay, but I still cannot condone watering down spirits!

REMY MARTIN - Louis XIII Grande Champagne Cognac

I got to sniff it once out of the bottle in the Sir Thomas Street Hotel in Liverpool. It was something daft like £75 for a single.

Its a £1000 a bottle. It all to bad though, you can fetch £100-£200 back for a empty bottle as they are considered a collectors item.

Or if your a footballer or Bill Gates

beer: errr, none really. at a push i'd say Corona?
Spirits? Now we're talking! Whisky's and Rum are my Forté, with Royal Lochnagar 12 year being my favorite cheap whisky, and Bowmore 18 my favorite expensive(er) whisky.
for Rum, my favorite is Mount Gay - oldest rum in the world.

I'm not allowed to drink beer anymore :( (used to be a massive real ale and bitter fan).

Black Sheep was my favourite.

Spirit:

Highland Park 18 y.o.
Havana Club 7 y.o.

German lager called HB (Hofbrauhaus Munchen)

GLENLIVET - Archive 21 Year Old

Got given this for my birthday the other day, lovely and smooth.

Beer: Decent Belgian/German stuff. Leffe is ok, Chimay and Kwak are lovely and Westmalle Triple is beautiful but lethal.

Spirit: Think whisky is my spirit of choice, haven't had a malt for a while, mind. Think it might be time to get meself a bottle soon. I've tried a few of the standard ones like Talisker, Laphroig, Highland Park, Bowmore etc. Might try something a bit different this time, either a slightly less well known 12yo or splash out on a 15 or 18 yold. Suggestions?

What? Maybe it's fair enough to say don't bother using premium quality spirits if your adding a flavoured mixer like coke as it's a waste of time, but it is well known that a lot of fine whiskey tastes better with a drop of water in it and decent cocktails rock.

Back on topic,

favourite beer - Barnsgate Brewery's - Tag Lag (From the brewery pub preferably)

Spirit - Havana Club Rum (White for Cuba Libra, dark aged for a straight)

Leffe, i have a couple of them whenever im in Blackheath, tastes lovely but is naughty stuff. If i had 4-5 pints of it id be on the deck chewing the carpet. It is definately moderation material for me.

Blackheath in London (not sure if there are others)? If so, head to greenwich next tiem you're in the area and check out the Union pub, they have a great selection of belgian bottled beers like Chimay etc which are a step above Leffe imo.

Dude while some believe this to be true I'm a purist water is acceptable in small amounts yes, I just prefer the fuller flavor without, but mixers at the end of the day are wrong!
