Favourite herb

I like ground/chopped coriander in dishes, and the general infused flavour of fresh, but I HATE actually eating a chunk of it fresh. I find it over-powering like that.

My favourite would probably be something like basil.

I can't believe so many people like coriander! Being only new to the UK I have noticed that so many more foods contain coriander here than back home. I can smell it a mile away and makes me want to vomit, it is seriously that offensive. If any restaurant food came to my table with it (obviously without being stated on the menu) it would be immediately sent back for a replacement without coriander, it wouldn't be edible.

I'm definitely not alone either..

It's certainly a marmite herb.

Trouble is chefs think herbs have to be pain every dish, and if a herb isn't included in the standard recipe. They chuck some in anyway,

Like any ingredient use it when needed and it helps balance/flavor the dish in the proper way.

Things like fresh coriander in Vietnamese noodle dishes are great.

Wow this is actually very difficult to answer. Id probably go with Coriander too but only by the tiniest of margins.

One that im not overly plused about is Tarragon, not to say i dont like it but it annoys me.:p:confused:
