Features the PS3 has but the 360/Wii doesnt?

Well iirc the bluetooth is not accessable by anything but the nintendo controllers on the Wii, but on the PS3 it is usable. So that is why i listed it.
And also it has features over the 360, which is probably what people are going to want to compare more too than the Wii. And i did also note that the Wii done the same, its not like i am trying to pull wool over anyones eyes.
Fair do's. :)

You forgot the Reality Synthesizer! lol

Although you gotta hand it to Sony, they have always managed to give there components 'Cool' names lol

You pay your money and take your choice - and Thank you Sony for my free blu-ray disc of Casino Royale for registering (maybe not much but better than nothing from MS)

to be fair, considering you were comparing both the systems with the full features and as you said they are actually both the same price with all these bits.......from what i've read Casino Royale is only for a limited time isnt it (correct me if i'm wrong). With the 360's HD-DVD drive you got king kong, again for a limited time only. So not exactly nothing from MS :)

Well, component isnt really as good as HDMI as it cant be used on some sets to get 1080p (at least i know this to be true with films, not sure if it can be overcome with games or not...)

I am probably wrong here, but doesn't the 360 only do 1080p through VGA? i keep forgetting :(

I can't get anything above 720p on my 360 via vga - all i get is a mess on the screen and a message saying something about not supported!!!

No problems with PS3 at 1080i via HDMI though ;)

Free online multiplayer - fair do's althogh will the system be as good as Live?

Blu Ray - well it doesnt have HD so 6 of one and half a dozen of the other there really.

Near Silent operation, though the Wii is the same. - fair do's

Upgradable HDD - can upgrade the 360 one (when they bring the bigger one out anyway)

Wireless and NIC - 360 has both

Reliability (Over the 360, probably the same as the Wii) - hard to compare since the user bases are different sizes at the moment. When the PS3 sells 10million we will compare.

Sony development Studios (Think i read something the other day saying they are the 3rd largest, least in terms of man power) - well i dont see any shortage of developers for the 360 so hardly a unique selling point is it.

Dolbe True HD sound and also 7.1 I think. - fair do's

Region Free games. - im playing lots of region free games on my 360

Can run Linux - so. You might as well say "well the ps3 is black, the others arent". who cares.

Ability to use any web cam, think the xbox is tied to the xbox vision cam, though i may be wrong. - again, so?

Free online multiplayer - fair do's althogh will the system be as good as Live? - Depends what you want

Blu Ray - well it doesnt have HD so 6 of one and half a dozen of the other there really. - Doesn't have HD. Do you mean it doesn't have an HDMI Cable?

Near Silent operation, though the Wii is the same. - fair do's

Upgradable HDD - can upgrade the 360 one (when they bring the bigger one out anyway) - So what you are saying is that the 360 HDD isn't actually upgradable as you have a choice of 1 drive?

Wireless and NIC - 360 has both - Not out the box

Reliability (Over the 360, probably the same as the Wii) - hard to compare since the user bases are different sizes at the moment. When the PS3 sells 10million we will compare. - Take % just now. Even at the 360's launch it had poor reliability. Check the pole from 10 months ago.

Sony development Studios (Think i read something the other day saying they are the 3rd largest, least in terms of man power) - well i dont see any shortage of developers for the 360 so hardly a unique selling point is it. - It is if you like the sames which Sony and their studios produce.

Dolbe True HD sound and also 7.1 I think. - fair do's

Region Free games. - im playing lots of region free games on my 360 - Yeah and there are quite a lot which are not region free.

Can run Linux - so. You might as well say "well the ps3 is black, the others arent". who cares. - a lot of people do.

Ability to use any web cam, think the xbox is tied to the xbox vision cam, though i may be wrong. - again, so? You can buy any web cam to use for video chat and not be tied to 1 camera. Quite a nice feature. Means i don;t need 2 web cams under my TV, as i can use the xbox live cam for both.

I think he's trying to say that it's no more of a unique inclusion as HD-DVD.

Ahh ok that makes sense, well i probably should have said an HD Movie format out the box then :)

Free online multiplayer
On a service that doesn't offer the stuff that make Xbox Live great, the ability to rate players so you know what they are like before you play them, being able to avoid them, being able to message them in-game, add them to one universal friends list throughout titles, compare games, compare achievements.

Whilst Blu-Ray is clearly brilliant, so is HD-DVD. Blu-Ray started off worse, now it's about the same, however until the 'war' is sorted it doesn't mean much if it's not gonna be supported widely after 24-months. I'd have preferred a seperate drive with the option to buy seperately.

This is something Sony have gotten right and it does annoy me at times (on certain discs - PGR3 and One Tree Hill - Season 1, Disc 4 for example are very loud in the drive and the inclusion of 2 small fans (over Sonys 1 big fan) are obviously louder, Microsoft did go for Style over substance with that one by cramming everything into a stylish case after the hammering they took over the design of Xbox.

Upgradable HDD
You actually have a choice of 3 - The Memory Card, the 20gb HDD or the new one about to be released. I would however have preferred a seperate laptop HDD upgrade much like PS3, but then again, I don't need the space on the Xbox360 to install games.

Wireless and NIC
Does it matter that it's out the box. I bought the wireless adapter for £60 for when I take it to friends houses to LAN, but for 12 months it was sat 2ft from my router, if I didn't want the wireless I would have saved myself £60. Again, optional to the price of the 360.

Reliability
Whilst not being able to comment personally as mines still going strong, records show that there IS a problem with the Xbox360, more so than PS3 or Wii when narrowed down to percentages. So it is more reliable at the moment.

Sony development Studios
Gran Turismo, Jak & Daxter , Ratchet & Clank, God of War, Ico and Wipeout interest me. Of course, if you count all versions of those SIX games you have TWENTY titles.
Microsoft Game Studios have: Fable, Forza Motorsport, Halo, Jade Empire, Project Gotham Racing, Rallisport Challenge, Alan Wake, Banjo-Kazooie, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Too Human and Viva Pinata, all of which interest/interested me. Thats also 12 franchises and still 20 titles, 6 of which are without sequels or announced sequels (because GoW will get one).
I also don't have to mention Nintendo's games, saying that, they truly are the Sequel masters, Mario Party 8 anyone?

Hopefully they utilise it, DTS on PS2 was never great. 7.1 just isn't needed, I've had 2x 7.1 setups, one on the PC and one 7.1 surround through a proper 7.1 Pioneer Amplifier. We are still getting the best from 5.1, but hopefully Sony can fully utilise 7.1 in the best 24-72 months.

For now. I believe Sony have the ability to say when to stop, I just can't see them releasing Metal Gear Solid and Gran Turismo as Region Free as Japan will get them a long time before us.

So can my PC, doesn't mean I have any want to. I just don't see why this is a 'feature', it just seems bizarre.

Something I would have liked to have seen with Xbox360, especially since you thought that if any company would support that it would be MS, but atleast the Vision is one of the better ones out there.

I'm not saying the PS3 doesn't have any benefits, it does have web browsing which looks quite cool. HDMI is a benefit, but only in the terms I don't have to unplug my Xbox360 from Component when upstairs.

This is not meant as a pro/anti argument against any console or any one person, JUMPURS is one of the best posters here and someones whose posts I always read, and whilst I do understand how he can see every point as a positive, this is just a counter-argument, not pro-360. After all, I really want a PS3 anyway!

While the PS3 network is still growing, it is enough if all you want to to is play some games multiplayer with yer mates. and video chat. imo And apparetnly it isn't only sony that think it is enough. The Wii's online is even worse, but it is enough atm

Yeap but it is an HD movie format out the box

But at the same time on the PS3 you can use USB memory, compact flash SD and Mem stick

Well yeah, because it is something included in the PS3, everything else is just an additional cost on the 360. And with the Wii it is an aditional cost for the NIC

horses for courses innit, I tend to like a lot of Sony first party games.

For now. I believe Sony have the ability to say when to stop, I just can't see them releasing Metal Gear Solid and Gran Turismo as Region Free as Japan will get them a long time before us.
I think they really have to keep it region free
So can my PC, doesn't mean I have any want to. I just don't see why this is a 'feature', it just seems bizarre.

Well not if you look at a lot of peoples setups in the 360 set up thread. How many people have a 360 hooked up to a monitor, and that monitor shares with the PC? If you can run linux, you could do away with the PC. Saving space and money (can't believe i just said the PS3 would save money lol)

anyone mentioned the multi tab web browser ?

really fail to see why microsoft dont have one , surely they could easily let the 360 run internet explorer

I dont see the need for a browser on a console, i would never use it - seems a bit pointless
