Feek's Friday Beer, gin (and whatever you happen to be drinking on a Friday night) Thread

Polly's Brew Co The VIP Mix. One of the best pale ales I've had this year.

Tonight's beers are from Garage in Barcelona

The orange can is called Jumpsuit and is a 11% triple New England IPA in collaboration with Northern Monk

As you would expect given it's provenance it's absolutely stunning

They look amazing. My stepson bought me these (and a few more in the fridge), for Fathers day

It's a great beer for the relatively low cost.

My flight refunds are due in soon, and i'm tempted to get an order in of some really good beers, as i always tend to aim around the £3/can range.

Aiming for some of those super hazy beers that are pure yellow, like this

@Rotty where do you tend to order yours from? I think @The_Abyss tends to go direct to breweries but i'd probably be aiming for a variety.

Yeah, I do go to the breweries direct, as I'm normally buying for both myself and my brother it works out ok and not excessive.

Not excessive at all.

:)

That’s a lot of calories!

I tried some wheat beer from Aldi last week, going to have a few more this week!

Good haul.

I'm thinking either Verdant, Track or Cloudwater for my order, unless i find a good online place.

Verdant would be near the top, but they only seem to have a small range in cans. Cloudwater also do beers from Squawk which i really like and a few other breweries so i think i'll just place an order with them.

Yeah, it's a decent beer that, and only £1.25 a bottle :)

Yeah I also bought the Pilsner but I preferred the wheat beer, it jus had more body (if that is the right term!).

Are you stating that it’s a good beer by preference or is it actually highly rated by reviews? I’ve not looked.

Personal preference. I can't remember but i think Untappd only rates it around 3.4/5, which is probably fair on taste, but then once you factor in the price i think it's a cracking option.

Agreed, the price is good even compared to other Aldi beers so I guess it’s probably a lot cheaper than other beers that are technically rated higher. It’s also 5% which seems higher than most that I’ve seen.

Might have accidentally ordered Beer 52's summer scorcher one off box. :D

I'll add a +1 for Lidl's own brand beer. Some of them are pretty nice, even better considering the price.

Not even spirits? Surely you’d get a hangover if you drank half (or whatever you think is a lot) a bottle of rum/vodka/whisky?
You'd be surprised, for some people sticking to one drink can prevent a lot of hangover issues. I find complex drinks like rich red wine or posh beer leave me feeling rough. Whereas reasonable quality spirits and no mixing alcohols I can be better off.

I've just got a bottle of Doorly's XO for fathers day. But your right I have not had a bad one, and I've had a lot of the Searle Rums. He is my go to distiller.

Not really, no. But although I have the occasional blow out, I don't tend to drink excessively. That's why I'd prefer to spend more on premium beers / drinks that I genuinely enjoy and savour.
