Feek's macOS useful tools, utilities and applications thread

Interesting to hear some of the comments in this thread I'm looking to get a magic trackpad to use in conjunction with my MX3s when I'm docked with my MBP. I've seen a couple of mods to the original magic mouse to make it more like my MX3s and think it would be a winner if they somehow managed to make the sensor a little stronger.

Never used a Magic Mouse so can't comment but looking at pictures it very much seems form over function.

Also if any of you're playing games on your Mac you're a glutton for punishment - I've tried a few minutes of some games on Steam (even ones supporting Apple Silicon) and the experience is minging.

I've had in the past a Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and MX Master. I really like the mouse, design how it's to be used off charge, etc... just didn't use it for that long. MX master is just a wireless mouse that's a decent shape and works. But the Magic Trackpad I used almost all of the time. Especially with the gesture functionality. Definitely the one I'd go for for normal use. But never for games.

I remember that I had a speed test app that sat in the upper menu bar of my MBP that could run scheduled tests and log the results, but I’m scuppered if I can remember what it was called…

Any ideas what it was/is called?

Was looking around for Black Friday sales and came across BetterTouchTool and Keyboard Maestro. I haven't bought them yet but they look handy.

Just in case...but are the "in app Purchases " gonna bite me?
Nope and I’d also recommend it but I would at least tip the developer if you can :)

Also the finder extension isn’t working properly in macOS 15.1 but should be fixed in 15.2

In over 15 years of Mac ownership, I’ve never found an archive file of any kind that the built in Archive Utility couldn’t open.
