There is so much pressure on women to look that perfect size 8 , not have an inch of fat on her and then we get posts like these ..

Some members seem to forget this is not some private little boy's club and that there are women reading these forums and getting hurt and upset by some of these comments - especially when they are currently busting a gut trying to lose some weight :/

I thought exactly this last night, and got myself really worked up and upset about it. Then I remembered that other people see you completely differently to how you see yourself, and didn't feel so bad.

One has a tendancy to take these sort of comments personally, especially if you're having your own little battle with weight and aren't happy with your body.

We just need to remember that they're not directed at people like you and I at all, because we wear clothes that fit, and cover up the bits we feel bad about :)

And you will get into those tops again because you're doing SO bloody well!!

I agree, this belief is usually so far embedded into their mind it is hard to change.

I agree with the earlier statement (on basis of what I said about "proportion" earlier, but I disagree with the second. You can call double standard, but women have their share of.. "benefits" sometime, so double standard work both ways. How many of you wax your legs? Actually, unless you are a swimmer, ultra-metro, probably none/very few. But would you find a woman with a guy's leg attractive? If you do, then you are a minority, I can assure you. And it does not make the rest of us the least sexist. People have different expectations, and it creates double standards, but guess what, it is has always been like that, and it work both ways (so pretty fair really). A woman MAY have hairy leg, and mustache and have a body fat percentage of 40%, and STILL think that it is not okay for men to have hairy belly showing and smelly armpits. Of course, in both cases, the chances of them meeting a partner is greatly diminished. I doubt most girls would think very highly of you if you don't show some basic sense of hygiene.

To sum up, there are certain criteria that make a woman attractive. It might be different for everyone. Look is most likely one of them to a degree, and we have a set of unwritten criteria somewhere in our head, irrespective of how we look/behave.

I was a thin kid so I had my time wearing the fashion stuff but I know I would be hugely disapointed if I had been relegated to High and Mighty right from the start, would have been even worse if I had been a girl :(

Would have to disagree with some of this....

Made the mistake of picking out a normal casual shirt from debenhams recently, just grabbed it paid and intended on trying it on when I got home...
Did so, and it was cut to look like I was pregnant :rolleyes: doesn't say a lot for the shape of the nation.. High and Mighty is not a relegation (in fact I wish I'd discovered it sooner) Can buy whatever you want from Animal/No Fear/Kayak/H&M's own brands/YSL/Ben Sherman/Rockport/Vans/Merrell, and I have heard rumours their looking at other sets as well, for example serious outdoor wear.

If only people were more aware of the right sizes, as it is, i've got a 40 min one way trip to get stuff, (or risk an online session with them)

What do you disagree with? High and Mighty is hardly in every major shoping town, I shop there too.

I love going it means I can look at clothes where are too BIG! :D but I do have to travel to Croydon from Mid Kent to get to one :(

Youre a right proper gaylord, you know that right?

They aint directed at you or piggy because you aint flippin fat. I know you, and me, and tons of other people will think our own bodies aint perfect, but you gotta accept that normal people dont see YOU or the Pigs as being fat so theres no chance of such comments being directed at you guys.

I've been trying to convince my wife of the same thing for YEARS, it doesn't work mate and this is one of the reasons my views are SO verment, its not rational but normal rational women WILL be hurt by fat coments :(
