Ferguson growing tired of Saha and his bloomin' injuries.

Personally think Oshea and Fletcher have done enough to start next season with us and Ole is in the last year of his contract, and because its him he should definitely stay and see it out

I thought Ole was on a pay per play deal ?

As for players from the spanish league I would love to have Diego Milito. Mobile, very rarely intimidated and can score goals by the bagfull. Oh can we have his brother as well please, Gabriel. A real monster of a defender. Fit in nice with Vidic :p

How much did Spurs pay for Berbatov?

I'd say you would have to offer Saha and £8m at least to make them take notice.

Berbatov to Spurs - £10.9 mill

Saha to Utd - £12.825 mill

Berbatov is at a good age (26). I actually thought he was older than that.

Klose? I don't rate him tbh. United could do a hell of a lot better.

Miroslav Klose has excellent finishing, strength and heading ability. He has expereince on many world stages and I think he will fit perfect in Uniteds system.

He also has the acceleration and speed of a milkfloat, which doesn't so much fit into United's system. He can head a ball great. The rest of his game though is not all that impressive whenever I have seen him. Like I said, I consider there to be plenty of alternatives who would offer so much more.

always said we overpaid.

why didnt we just buy Anelka. he score goals, doesnt have the same fitness issues and would have been cheaper...

berbatov... we've missed the boat. we cant just keep going after players who have just moved for millions on the back of a good season.

fergie where are your scouts at? why didnt we get there first?! its because we are crap at this that we have to pay extortionate amounts for all our players.

But we cant just keep buying young, fast players.

Look at Giggs, scholes and Neville, all have played an important part for us this season.

Mirosav Klose is 28? Van Nisterooly did not have pace and yet banged in a stupid amount of goals.

We have fast paced players- Rooney, Ronaldo, Evra, Brown and Hargreaves if he comes. Im guessing a Giggs replacement will come in the transfer window, with Nani topping the transfer mill. Thats a lot of speed and pace, there needs to be a balance.

Where is the rule that says you can't have a team of younger faster players? Giggs and Scholes are getting old yes but they are still sharp, and sharpness is key. Klose just seems like a big log up front that isn't particularly sharp.

With regards to pace, Van Nistelrooy was no slouch like Klose is. I don't even remember Klose's movement being that good, which is what a slow player needs to have in his game. Van Nistelrooy definitely had that and then some. Klose to me is just a big physical forward.

Look at how Man United have played this season. Along the ground, pace, movement. Where would Klose fit into that? They would probably have to change their system to one that they used when Van Nistelrooy played and that would be taking a step back. Playing with the personnel they have now they are having far more success.

Berbatov was quoted on the BBC website at the start of the season that he has turned down Utd twice now. The first time we had Cole & Yorke and the second time RvN was banging them in for fun.

Manchester Evening News (on Saha) said:
'LOUIS Saha is one match away from making a century of appearances for United, but the odds are lengthening on the French striker ever reaching that milestone.

Sir Alex Ferguson must now be seriously considering more than one transfer swoop in the summer to strengthen his attack as Saha's unreliable appearance record begins to hack off the Reds boss.

Fergie has tracked hitmen such as Atletico Madrid's Fernando Torres and Klaas Jan Huntelaar at Ajax, and he has also been linked with Michael Owen at Newcastle.

He has £18m earmarked for midfielder Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich and a probable £8m on its way to Southampton for teenage Welsh full-back Gareth Bale.

One striker was set to be the target for chief executive David Gill to pursue in the close season, but Saha's injury situation is set to force the Reds to dig even deeper into the Glazers' pockets to fund a double swoop.

Ferguson's patience with Saha during an injury curse which has blighted the 28-year-old's time at Old Trafford has been commendable.

The United manager's tolerance looked to have paid off this season as Saha hit the ground running following the summer sale of Ruud van Nistelrooy, knocking in 11 goals by early December.

Those strikes added up to a 2006 calendar year haul of 23. His injury nightmare appeared to be history.

It prompted United to extend the Parisian's contract before Christmas to keep him at the club until 2010.

But since the deal was signed, Saha's appearance graph has plummeted alarmingly again.

He has made just four starts in 2007 and seven appearances as a sub, scoring once.

It has left United short up front, and Fergie had to swoop in the January transfer window to bring Henrik Larsson on loan from Helsingborg to cover the crisis.

The Swede has come and gone, but Saha is still a regular in the treatment room as a hamstring problem he picked up in March continues to keep him off Fergie's list of players available for selection.

Now it seems that the admirable patience of the United boss has worn thin - if it hasn't snapped altogether - with the player dubbed `Balsa Man' by one United fanzine because of his flimsy resistance.

When Fergie was asked after Tuesday night's match against Sheffield United when Saha would be fit, the manager's exasperated and resigned "I don't know" response said it all.

And that makes the long term for Saha look bleak.

It looked as if Fergie had reconciled himself to the fact that Saha's fitness is a mystery and that he won't be banking on being able to use the Frenchman for United's run-in.

Saha has been riddled with fitness problems since his £12.8m move from Fulham in January 2004.

Those problems, which included a 12-month battle with knee troubles, have seen him appear in only 53 per cent of the Reds matches since moving from Craven Cottage.

He is stuck on that 99-appearance mark after three-and-a-half years at the club.

Compare that to Wayne Rooney, who clocked up his century in two years.

It's a depressing figure for Saha, and a frustrating one for player and club, as his Fulham appearance record never suggested that United were gambling when they shelled out for him.

Fergie has stuck by injury-stricken players in the past, notably Roy Keane and Ole Solskjaer, allowing them time to return. But theirs were serious problems that needed patience.

The nature of Saha's persistent niggles and apparent extended time out for run-of-the-mill injuries suggests that he can now no longer rely on the manager's tolerance.

It is a sad state of affairs for a likeable player, who on his day is a quality goalscorer at any level. Unfortunately, those days have been overwhelmed by weeks spent in the medical room.

Whether Louis Saha will get a chance to prove he can overcome the blight and last the distance is becoming increasingly uncertain.

The man who helped put the Reds in the driving seat in the Premiership back in autumn and early winter must now be wondering if he will be off-loaded when United's destination is reached this campaign.'

I always said and long standing members will rmember this, Smith and Rooney will be englands starting pairing.

They compliment each other perfectly, and as shown in the last few games smith has that will to win and physical presence upfront that we need. He can hold the ball up well and as shown in previous game shas the vision to pick out a killer pass.

Sure he may not get 30 goals a season but I dare bet he will average 15-20 and the same again in assists. I dont think we need to replace Smith as the number 1 striker but we sure need to bring in soeone other than saha to fill the void.

The other option to me is a winger. Stupid as you may think it sounds but if we but a Good left winger i.e Nani that would free Rooney up to play upfront with Giggs behind If we did that then I dont think buying a new forward would be a necessity

Giggs / Rooney / Smith / Solskjaer / Rossi would be 5 Quality forwards with plenty of combinations between them. The added bonus of having Ronaldo as wellwho could move up front.

It is essentail in my view that we Buy a quality Left Winger. If we do that it gives us far more options.

I agree on the left winger side of things but maybe for a different reason. I think we can all see Giggsys days are a bit numbered bombing it past full backs. Don't get me wrong, hes a fantastic pro, really looked after himself etc and I think we can all see he has matured into a player who can still use his brain when playing a central role. eg that ball he put in for Rooney the other night. But he can't do it for 90 minutes week in week out

However now is the time to get his replacement. So he can come into the squad and be nurtured into a player worthy of his replacement over the course of the next year or so. The biggest problem when Keano left was that there was no one who had been groomed for that role or to replace the player. Slowly it's coming together for Carrick but it would have been nice to see someone come through the ranks and hit the ground running
